*Tony's POV*

I stared down at my bare feet as the pack doctor looked over my wounds. They burned and weren't healing properly, but it didn't phase me. Nothing phased me. The only thing on my mind was Stephen. My beautiful boy out there alone with no protection. No one to bring him back into my arms. I couldn't help but feel like a failure. I was supposed to protect him. I was supposed to keep him by my side and away from the pain this shit world caused.

But I didn't. And it burned me to my core that I was stuck in this overly clean infirmary with Stephen out there. My wolf threatned to get out as he paced within me. Why wasn't anyone out there looking for my mate? The entire pack should be looking for him!

A growl escaped my lungs as the doctor continued to clean my wounds.

"The vampire's claws were laced with large amounts of monkshood."

"Monkshood?"

"Wolf's bane. I'm not sure how, but the creature's claws were filled with it. When it scratched you, the wolf's bane spread through your system. Not enough to kill you, but enough to slow your healing and weaken you." He explained.

James came through the door with a cold look in his eyes.

"Leave us." He said to the doctor.

"I am not finished binding his wounds. If left untreated-"

"I said to leave us! You can finish when I am done discussing with him."

He gave James an agrivated look before leaving. Something was different about James. The look in his eyes had changed.

A sigh escaped his lips as he sat down on the stool in front of me.

"How are you feeling?" He asked me.

"Fine, I guess. Why isn't anyone looking for him James?"

"They were looking, Tony. You passed out after the attack, but as soon as our dads heard about it they sent some of the best War Wolves out to look."

"And?"

"Nothing. Dad said his scent went passed state lines."

"Well, what does that mean?"

"It means things just got a hell of a lot harder. If they're crossing borders with him, other packs will need to be notified of our pressence and of the situation."

"So tell them! I just want him back!"

"Tony, it's not that simple! The packs won't take the news of a small coven of witches on the run with a Grand Warlock and vampires too lightly. We need to go before the council and explain what's happening."

My breathing deepened and I felt my claws extend. The thought of waiting for permission on finding my mate didn't sit well with me.

"The meeting is set for tonight at midnight. You, me, both our dads, and Linda are coming."

"Why Linda?"

"Because he was my nephew before he was your mate." Linda said seemingly appearing out of nowhere.

"Jesus Christ I hate when you pop up like that!" I glared at her before returning my gaze to my feet.

I felt exhausted. My body wasn't healing, my mind wasn't at ease, and I felt like something was eating away at every part of me.

"Linda's gonna help us convince the Councilmen to give us permission to look for him." I nodded and sighed.

"Get some rest Tony. I'll wake you when we're ready to leave."
