The Forever Bond

School Shooting

"Are you OK?" Sam asked his best friend Aurora.
"Yeah I'm fine. Why do you ask?" Aurora replied.
"You looked upset about something," Sam said.
"I'm not upset, just thinking about what I'll do after school let's out," Aurora said.
     Sam is an ordinary person with nothing physically special about him. He is very smart and knows weapons like he knows his family. His scores on everything are perfect. He isn't built for hand to hand combat but he can outrun all his rivals.
     Aurora acts like a full blooded human but she was born with cat ears and a tail. She can see in the dark just as well as a cat. Her cat instincts also give her enhanced mobility.
     The only reason Sam and Aurora are best friends is that they both were bullied for their differences. People kept pulling Aurora's ears and tail just to get her mad enough to have her attack them then get her in trouble for it. People always took Sam's work and tore it up then laugh because of it.  All if that changed when the 2 became friends because people knew better than to mess with more than 1 person if they were friends. Sam protected Aurora's animal parts while Aurora protected Sam's school work.
"Hey, if you want you can come to my house after school," Sam said.
"OK, I have to ask my mother first," Aurora said.
     The 2 entered the classroom and went to their seats. When they sat down the intercom came on announcing a Code Red Level 1. A level 1 is common here. There are 5 levels depending on proximity and threat level of the danger. Class went on as normal for about 5 minutes. The intercom announced and Code Red Level 3.
"Why did they skip 2?" someone behind them asked.
"This has never happened before, " someone else said scared.
"Aurora come with me to the back," Sam said.
"OK," was all Aurora could say with what was going on.
     They went to the back and Sam convinced Aurora to hide in a cabinet. Sam went into the cabinet next to her and hid. Within the next half hour it was a Code Red Level 5. Everyone was in a panic. There has never been someone so dangerous this close to the school. Gunshots could be heard in different classrooms our class never knew how to shut up and it might get them killed if they don't learn soon. After 5 minutes of noise our classroom door opened and an unknown person walked in.
"Who's the strongest person here?" the unknown person asked in a manly voice.
"I am," said Sam's bully.
"OK, who is the smartest here?" the unknown man asked.
"Where's Sam?" asked his bully.
     No one knew we hid in the cabinets. I could hear Sam's heartbeat pickup and mutter softly that he was sorry. He opened the cabinet and stepped out.
"I'm right here," he said.
"Good now we can see if brains can beat brawn in a fight. Rules are simple if brains win I leave, if brawns win I kill everyone then leave," the unknown man said.
     The unknown man set restrictions on how to fight then had them fight. Sam dodged most of the attacks with his speed. His bully smiled as they fought bit he didn't know that Sam was finding weakness in his stance the whole time. Sam found all the weakness and moved to the offensive position. He took down his bully with swift movements to his his bully's legs, chest, and stomach. The unknown man was furious on how the fight turned out. He pointed the gun at Sam and I pounced out of the cabinet to protect the only person that cared for me in the school. As I ran across the room everyone jumped at my sudden movement. I pounced at the gun when I was close enough and hit it right before the shot was fired. I fell to the ground in pain because of how loud the shot was to me. Sam was holding his left shoulder. My bully fell straight down holding her chest. The only way she'd be in so much pain was if the bullet went through Sam's shoulder then into her chest. Sam's bully and friends attacked the intruder at different angles. He was disarmed and surrounded. The class went to help the injure. CPR was being preformed on my bully. 2 kids were putting pressure with cloths on Sam's shoulder. 1 kid went to go me cotton balls and another plugged my ears completely so sounds wouldn't hurt as much. 2 minutes later the kid came back and put the cotton balls In my ears. The police checked our room and saw the shooter surrounded by students and 3 students injured on some way. They arrested the shooter and paramedics came  and put Sam and my bully on stretchers then guided me alongside them to the ambulances. When we got there We saw 2 ambulances still there. I boarded the same one as Sam was being loaded on and both ambulances went to the hospital. Sam need to have his arm worked on, my bully needed surgery to get the bullet removed, and I need to be put through some tests so they can repair my damaged ears.
