The Forever Bond

The Surprise

"Hi Sweety," mom said.
"Hi mom," I answered.
"How was it here?" mom asked.
"Great," I said.
"Good, we also have a surprise at the house for you," mom said.
"Is that why you let me stay 2 nights?" I asked.
"Yes and because I knew you needed to relax," mom answered.
"Let me get my stuff," I said.
"But you didn't bring anything," mom said.
"Sam got me somethings," I said.
"Of course, he always does," mom said.
     I went into the basement and got my training gear. Before I went upstairs Sam came down. He handed me a pair of gloves.
"What's this?" I asked.
"A modified pair of gloves I made," Sam said.
"Why did you make these?" I asked.
"I wanted you to be able to use your claws without having to remove your gloves," Sam said.
"Thanks," I said.
     I pulled him to me and kissed him before he could say anything. We went back up and mom questioned the new clothes.  I didn't feel like explaining so I dodged the question.
"Are you ready, Sweety," mom asked.
"One more thing," I said.
     I ran up to Sam and hugged him. He kissed my forehead and I looked him in the eyes. I kissed him on the lips and ran to mom.
"Now I'm ready," I said.
"When did that happen?" mom asked.
"Couple days ago," I said.
"Why didn't i know about it?" mom asked.
"I guess it never presented itself," I said.
"Come on, we should go before dad and Me starts to worry," mom said.
"OK, bye Sam," I said.
"Bye Aurora," Sam said.
     I left Sam's house and got into the passenger side of mom's car. We pulled out and I put on the radio. We drove the 15 minutes it took to get home.
"Before we  go in be prepared for anything," mom said.
"I know, I was already going to do that," I said.
"Good," mom said.
     Mom watched the noise level of the brakes as she stopped the car. After she stopped the engine she told me to put my earplugs in. After I did she honked 3 times. We got out and went into the house. I didn't hear or see anything.
"Mom, where is the surprise?" I asked.
"You have to find it," mom said.
"But, mom," I said.
"No buts about it, you have to find it if you want it,"mom said.
"Fine," I said.
     I closed my eyes and focused on my hearing. I could her moms breathing and Emily's footsteps but I couldn't hear anything from dad. I smiled knowing who I had to find.
     I burst into a sprint searching the entire house for dad. I checked all his usual spots but didn't find him. I then went to Em's room to see if I could find dad there but he wasn't there either. The last place I could check was my room but dad never goes in there unless I'm in trouble.
     When I got to my door I stopped and focused on my hearing. I heard dad's breathing and more breathing inside with him. I took off my old gloves and put on the new ones. They were black, snug, and comfortable. I brought out my claws and a metal coating came out with them. I opened the door ready for a fight. I saw dad holding 2 husky pups. I retracted my claws and dad put the pups on the ground. I got on my knees and the pups jumped on me.
"They're yours to name and take care of," dad said.
"Really?" I asked excitedly.
"Yes, really," he said.
     I couldn't contain my happiness. I jumped up scaring the puppies and hugging my dad. He kissed my forehead and hugged me back.
