I awake in the morning to the sound of forks scraping against glass and the smell of bacon. I guess breakfast has begun while I slept. I fix my messy hair into a ponytail and comb it out. I go out in my clothes from last night, I'll change later.

My ankle has completely healed in the night. I guess what takes two months in the seam takes two days in the Capitol.

On my nightstand, I string my locket around my neck, letting the silver chain shine brightly against my pink shirt. I slide Dustin's ring onto my finger and really admire it this time in the light.

The dull silver band is engraved with little hearts that circle the whole ring. The diamond is beautiful, the morning sunlight reflects off of it, giving it a glowing appearance.

I let my arm drop back down to my side as I continue walking out of my bedroom. Down the hall, and into the kitchen.

My jaw hits the floor as I stare at my best friend. My face turns into a wide beaming smile the is bound to touch my ears, and I run toward him and he stands.

I wrap my arms around his neck and hug him. I can't believe he's back already.

"Griffin..." I say astonished because I don't know what else I should say.

I knew he'd be back, it's just so exciting. I didn't know when he'd be back from the arena. Harley sits at the table smiling.

So everyone's back.

Once my sudden rush of excitement dies down, I start asking questions as I pile breakfast onto my tray, not even seeing what I'm grabbing.

"So,you know... who died last night?" I ask awkwardly.

Dakota answers, "The careers found Celli and Chevy from District Five down by a river getting water. They actually killed them quite brutally. They held Celli up against a tree and threw knives at her until she died. Then they just killed Chevy off with one stab with a sword."

I nod, thinking of how vicious our pack of careers are. I try to remember them all in my head.

There's Bliss from District One. She's okay with a bow and a spear. She's clever. I don't know much about her, but I still wouldn't want her to be hunting me down in the arena.

Then there's Indi from District Two. She's small and quick. A fast runner, but not too smart. I could easily follow her in the trees without her noticing. She's a prodigy with knives. Wouldn't want her to fight me. Ever.

There's her partner, Raudo from District Two. He's practically great at every weapon you hand him. Swords, knives, spears, you name it. He's an arrogant hothead. He's built like a train, and is as fast as one too. But he's as dumb as a bread loaf and is terrible at using a bow. I could outsmart him easily.

Then from District Four we have Beacher. He's smart and extraordinarily unpredictable. He's stealthy and cunning. Great with a sword or triton. He can swim miracles, being from District Four. All I know is that I want to stay far away from him.

Last of the Ferocious Five is Marina, from District Four. She's great with a bow, giving her an advantage on distance. She's a fast runner, and swimmer. I never really noticed her in training, meaning she must've kept to herself. So she's quiet, not arrogant. Good for us, but I don't want to come across her.
