I got about 3 hours of sleep that night. I tossed and turned until I finally wore myself out. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes as I put everything in my bag. It was 8:30 and we would be leaving in 15 minutes.
I wanted to fall asleep but I knew I couldn't. I needed to prepare myself for the day ahead. I grab a white t-shirt, a flannel, and a pair of jeans from my bag and zip it up. I walk into the bathroom and change.
As I finish I look in the small mirror above the sink. My hair is an absolute disaster. Once again I throw it up into a messy bun. I look at my reflection again.
"That'll do," I whisper to myself.
I grab my bag off the small bed I slept on and make my way to the kitchen. Olivia and Griffin are standing near the counter.
"Wanna Pop Tart," Olivia asked taking a bite out of a strawberry Pop Tart. "Sure." I grab one of them from the counter and start eating it. We got lucky that all the food was left in this place ,and that it wasn't expired. We wouldn't always be lucky though.
"Do you have everything packed?" I nod to Griffin as he questions me. I go and grab my bag from the room and take it to the front door. I go back to the counter to finish my Pop Tart.
The door opened up and the others walked in. "Ok, we have everything ready to go and we turned the car on so it would be warm," Trey informed us. "Is everybody ready to go?"
I nodded my head along with everybody else ,even though I wished we could just stay here or even go home. That wasn't an option though. We had to go and soon before anyone found us.

I pushed open the car door and stepped out into the warm sunlight. I however was met with the chill autumn air. We had pulled in at an old gas station.
Jack opened the gas tank on the car and started to fill it. Olivia and I walked towards the small store to grab food. While the others tried to decide where we should go next.
We had about $35 to spend that my aunt gave us. I grabbed drinks and snacks for all of us. I laid them on the counter in front of the store employee. It was an older woman with short brown hair. We both kept our heads down since technically we were on the run.
As she told us how much we owed I could hear the lack of enthusiasm in her voice. It was obvious she did not want to be there. I handed her the money and we both grabbed the bags.
I got back in the car and sat next to Griffin in the back. Sabrina started the car and we got back on the road. We all ate and everyone started talking. "Did you sleep well last night?" Griffin asked me.
"Yeah," I lied not wanting him to question me about why I hadn't slept long. Griffin nodded contently but Jack turned around from in front of him and looked at me as if he knew I had lied.
I looked at him knowing I looked guilty. Luckily Griffin didn't notice. He was staring out the window watching the many trees go by as we drove along.
Everybody was doing there own thing. Sabrina focused intently on driving, Trey was looking at a map, Olivia was quietly singing along to the music playing on the radio, and Jack was flipping through his book.
I looked closer as I realized Jack was flipping through the section about mediums. I could see how focused he was by the look of concentration on his face. He was reading every little detail. I could tell because his eyes were following along every line on the page. I couldn't help but wonder why he was doing this.
He must have realized someone was staring at him because he turned looked at me and hurriedly closed his book. I looked away as soon as he did knowing I should respect his privacy. I began to look out the windows.
I began to look at everything outside but it was all just trees and grass. We were in the middle of nowhere pretty much. I began to wonder where we would be going next. Maybe there would be someone at the next house. Maybe a hospitable family. Family. The thought lingered in my head.
I've never really had much of a family. If you lived past 30 in my family you were considered lucky. Everybody in my family had either died or left before I was born. I wanted so badly to have a happy living family. At least I had my aunt and mom before ,now I can't even see them because it would put them in danger.
I noticed we were turning on to a driveway. I looked through the front window to see a fairly big house. Was someone with this much money really gonna help us. We pulled up beside the house and Sabrina hopped out to make sure it was safe here.
A man and a woman stepped out of the house. They looked to be about 50. I watched as Sabrina seemed to ask them something. They nodded there heads and smiled. I wondered what she asked and if it was some sort of code between everyone.
We all got out of the car and grabbed our bags. As I walked in I looked around at the huge house. After we were all in the couple shut and locked the door.
"Hi! My names Allie and this is my husband Gregory. We have some rooms upstairs you all can put your stuff in. Then we have some food already made that you cane eat. Follow me!" The woman said happily.

I walked down the stairs in my PJ's. Everybody was at the table eating dinner. I sat in between Olivia and Trey. Allie sat a plate of steak, mashed potatoes ,and macaroni in front of me. "Thank you," I smiled at her kindly and began to eat.
She smiled back but only half heartedly. Which gave me a weird feeling. As we ate everyone talked and we thanked them for their hospitality. They talked about their kids a lot as  we ate. You could tell they loved them dearly. Gregory and Allie began to tell us the story of why they took in people like us.
"They took our son, Noah. We found out had abilities when he was young. He's our youngest of five. We were able to cover it all up for awhile ,but then someone found out and then someone else and so on. One night when we were asleep we heard rustling in the house. When we went to check on Noah he was gone. We haven't seen him since. That was a year ago." Gregory explained with a solemn look on his face.
I looked to see that Allie had the most heartbroken look on her face. It made me think about when the police told Lucy, my mom , and me that they had found Kate's body. I vividly remember the disbelief I felt and the looks on their faces. The same look Allie had.
"Do you know if he is still alive," Griffin asked. "We aren't completely sure ,but we believe he is," Gregory answered. "If you want to know ,Claire can find out for you," Jack proposed.
"I can?" I asked not so sure I could live up to his expectations. "Yeah of course you can. Your one of the strongest mediums I've ever seen Claire. Not only can you see the dead you can communicate with them too," Jack said with positivity. "I guess I can try."
"Would you do that for us please?" Allie pleaded. "Of course I just need a picture of him or something of his." Allie went and grabbed a picture of Noah. It seemed to be a school photo ,a new one giving the condition of it. He was about 13 with well kept brown hair and brown eyes.
I held the picture and began to focus on his picture. I saw people who looked like him but none were him. I focused harder as the images ran through my mind but nothing. I couldn't find him. I was upset at first feeling a sense of failure but then I realized that was a good thing.
"He's alive," I exclaimed opening my eyes to see that everybody was looking at me. "So we might be able to save him still," Gregory seemed to realize. Gregory and Allie exchanged looks of hope and worry. There looks also seemed to hide secrets. As if they were talking to each other about things they didn't want to talk about in front of us.
As we headed off to bed It dawned on me how tired using my powers made me. I wasn't as weak as I was when I found Treys friend but I was really tired. Everybody went on to their rooms but I stayed back wanting to look around the huge house.
I started to wonder aimlessly. Finding myself in a hallway with pictures strewn all over the walls. I looked at the photos of the happy 7 member family on the walls. I only had a few photographs of my family and my dad was always cut out of any he was in.
They all looked so content and peaceful beside each other. They had two sons and two daughters besides Noah. He almost seemed out of place with them. His smile looked fake almost as if he knew the days he spent with his family would be short.
I looked through all the pictures and went up to my room. I laid in the bed and closed my eyes as darkness and sleep began to take me over.

Sorry I haven't posted in forever. I tried to make this chapter longer. Also I didn't proof read this so there may be some mistakes in it. Hope you all enjoy. Love y'all!💕💕💕
