I watched Hitoka walk in with water bottles then saw a ball heading for me and blocked my face but heard a smack, not felt it. I looked and saw Asahi had hit the ball so it went back to Hinata and Kageyama.

"Thanks, Asahi." I smiled and he nodded.

"Course." I smiled and took my three outside then Kenma whined about being in the sun.

"Boys, about a mile down this trail is a red flower. It's not poisonous, I checked. Your job is to run down the trail, pick one flower EACH, and bring it back to me." I said and they got ready to jog then I told them to go and sat on the stairs of the back porch then waited as I leaned back on my palms. After a while, I heard panting and looked to see Kenma and he had a red flower in his hands. I took it then he sat next to me and Asahi arrived next then sat next to me. Yamaguchi came out last and I smirked as he fell to the ground, not even making it to the stairs.

"Good job. Ten-minute break." I said and they smiled as they relaxed. I stood and got four drinks of water from the fridge inside then went back to them and gave them each one. They all chugged it then Takeda came over.

"Hey, practice match between Nekoma and Karasuno." I nodded and we went to the gym where they were setting up.

"Alright, remember, adjust for your team and surroundings. Kenma, set for their best play. Asahi, remember your height adds effect to your jump. Yamaguchi, even if you don't make the block, you have teammates to help. Go on." I said and they nodded then I watched my three as the practice match began.

"How are they?" Ukai asked and Nekomata even came over.

"Asahi is catching up quick. Yamaguchi is struggling but learning. And Kenma, he's an amazing player once you make him focus on practice." I said and Nekomata nodded then left.

"Are they ready for championships?" I sighed and glanced at Ukai.

"I don't have an answer you'd like, coach. I'm sorry." I said and he nodded then Yamaguchi took a ball to the face and I called time. We all went to him then I saw his nose bleeding and felt it.

"It's not broken." I said as he clutched his nose then I put a rag under it.

"I'm so sorry, Yamaguchi!" Kenma said and Yamaguchi smiled at him.

"It's okay, you didn't mean to." Kenma smiled and I helped our blocker stand then walked him to the side.

"Tsukishima, take his place." Coach said and I sat Yamaguchi down then eyed his nose.

"Busted vein, it's alright." I said and he smiled as I held the rag to his face.

"Does this mean I'm out of practice?" He asked hopefully and I scoffed.

"No." He pouted and Hinata laughed some then the first set ended with Karasuno winning.

"Asahi, you're getting sluggish. You're out the rest of the game." Ukai said and Asahi nodded then sat and I went to him.

"Asahi, you need to..." I explained what he needed to do, not hearing the warning of a stray, then someone yelled my name and I turned to see the ball hurtling at me. I gasped and time seemed to slow as Asahi shot up and pulled me behind him with an agility I'd never seen before. I saw his arm go up then everything went back to normal as the ball smacked into his arm and I was now behind him.

"Whoa, that was so cool!" Bokuto cheered and I looked at Asahi in amazement.

"Is your arm okay?!" Hitoka asked and Asahi nodded as he lightly rubbed his arm.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Here, let's get you ice." I said and took him to the kitchen area in the sleeping quarters building. He sat at the small table in there as I got him ice then I held it to his arm and smiled.

"Seems I'm thanking you a lot now." I said and he chuckled as I sat in a chair in front of him.

"Yeah, guess so." He said and I smiled then eyed his arm.

"This'll bruise, definitely." I said and held the ice there then looked at him. He was closer than I thought and I smiled at him then he leaned closer and gently kissed me. I was shocked and froze, the ice even slipping from my hands. He pulled back then his eyes widened and he grabbed the ice then stood.

"Um, fo-forget that happ-happened. I-I'm so sorry." He said and rushed off but I was still frozen. Is a kiss supposed to feel that good?
