"Hitoka says you insulted your friends, Novalie. What happened?" Mom asked as I got my bag together the morning after Mina called and I scoffed.
"Nothing. Just realized I was better off with dad." I snit and grabbed my headphones then mom grabbed my arm and made me turn to her.
"I'm going to be late, mom."
"You can be late. You are to tell me what happened, I am your moth-"
"Are you my mother? Last I checked, you fought for Hitoka in the divorce. Not both of us." I snapped and she stumbled as I left the apartment and went to the train station. I got to school then saw the team, my sister, and Kiyoko then ignored them as they eyed me. Then I noticed Hitoka and Tsukishima holding hands and let a small smile slip out. One relationship ends, another begins. Though, more like many end and one starts. I thought and went to class then Asahi came in and slowed as he saw me. He took a deep breath and came over then I looked up like I was bored.
"What?"
"Whatever the person who called said, don't push us away for it. Don't-don't push me away for it, Novalie. Please, all I ask is you tell us what's going-"
"Go away, Asahi. I told you what's going on, I woke up from dreamland and you were dating a slut. You really should have expected me to get bored when you wouldn't even touch me unless you asked first." I said and he looked genuinely hurt by my words, which I wanted to take back so badly.
"Y-you don't mean that." Then I smirked as I stood and noticed more people looking at us.
"Oh, I do. And I also mean this: you'd better find some little prude to date because I'm way too far out of your league for you to even look at." I said and he shook his head as he backed up and people began whispering.
"Novalie, you- what happened to you?" He whispered and I gripped his shirt then pulled him down to my height.
"I got bored with the innocent, little, shy bitch you are." I whispered and let him go as a tear fell down his cheek.
"No-Novalie, for what it's worth, I still care about-"
"It's worth no more than shit." I said and the teacher came in as he stormed out.
"Azumane!" The teacher yelled but I sat and looked smug for the other students eyed us. On the inside, I was sobbing and begging Asahi to forgive me.
~~~
"Novalie!" I winced as the pitchy voice screeched my name while I left the school."Hey, Mina." I said and saw Hitoka and the team eyeing us.
"So, this is where you are? Torono Town?" She said and I nodded as I smiled.
"Yeah, so?"
"So, you got any friends?"
"Nope." I smirked and she giggled as she looped her arm through mine. I laughed as she told me of the stories from Tokyo but I felt their stares on my back, I knew they realized she was an old "friend."
Asahi's POV
I watched Novalie leave with the blonde girl then knew she was someone from Tokyo. She wore faded blue jeans, a black halter top, and black heeled ankle boots. She had sharp green eyes and fair skin, sunlit blonde hair and she wasn't lacking in a figure either."Who's that?" Tsukishima asked Yachi and the blonde girl shook her head.
"I don't know, I've never seen her before. Maybe she's from Tokyo?" Yachi said and I looked at the gates where Novalie and the girl were turning to go home, I think.
"Whoever she is, I don't think Novalie likes her." Sugawara said and I turned to eye him.
"What?"
"Think of it. She shoved us all away when she got a phone call yesterday and now she's flinching as that blonde shows up. I think she was trying to protect us from whoever that was." Then I looked at the ground and felt hope fill my heart. No, she wouldn't be such a bitch if that was the case, would she?
