        My name is Lotus Castellan, but please just call me Lotus. My last name brings back disturbing memories. I know it may look like I have two fathers, but I have a mother and a father, okay? Just wait and I'll explain that matter.

        My mom, Luke Castellan (I know, I know. Luke is a guy, but not for long) was on this random quest, not really knowing what he was doing. He was only seventeen. On the way back from his quest, he realized he must've taken a different route back to camp, because he stumbled upon a field of poison joke flowers. He thought they were just regular flowers, and walked through the field. The flowers looked familiar, but he couldn't remember the name. They're harmless, he thought to himself. As he was walking, a red poison joke got caught on his foot. He freaked out and started dancing around (not literally) trying to get the poison joke off his foot, not trying to touch it. It looked poisonous to him. He eventually just stomped on it, and it fell off his foot.

        He continued his journey back, feeling different. Not mentally, but physically. I'll be fine, he thought. About three minutes later, he realized that he definitely was different, in the worst possible way. How stupid of me! How did I not see it? Those were poison jokes. He thought, angry at himself. He knew those flowers looked familiar. There were many different types of poison jokes, but the red ones were the worst. If you touched a red poison joke, you were gender bent. "Oh great. That's just pleasant. I'm a girl." said Luke, miserably. Luke really didn't care. All he (she) had to do was go to Chiron, and hopefully he would change him (her) back to normal.

        As she was heading back to camp, she decided she would give herself a new name. Lacy? Lucy? Luca. She thought. "Until Chiron can fix me, my name is Luca" she said under her breath.

        When she reached farther back to camp, she noticed a man following her. He was very pale, with jet black hair and cold, spooky black eyes. She sped up her pace. The man did the same. She eventually found herself running. So was the man... and here's where it gets weird. Like, REALLY weird. Lets just say Luca couldn't run any farther, and things happened.

        When she finally got to camp, she told Chiron everything. Then, she completely freaked out, only to except her fate that she was expecting a child. It took months for Chiron to finish the gender bend antidote.

        So, here's the part where I (Lotus) come in. Soon after I was born, Luke and Chiron raised me, and recorded almost every moment of my life on video. I have strawberry blonde hair, and fiery orange eyes. I have the red poison joke to thank for my pigments. Luke (he took the antidote, so he's Luke again) and Chiron soon realized I had a "gift" of most descendants of Hermes. For every 6 months, I aged a year. So you could say that I age twice as fast as normal.

        I met Percy Jackson when I was four (two) and he NEVER remembered me. Then when Luke left Camp Half-Blood, he took me with him because, all I knew when fighting was how to hold a sword.

        When on the Princess Andromeda, I was often watched by other demigods and monsters. My daily routine was, learning basic principles in the morning and sword fighting throughout the evening. So, I didn't have a real childhood. In this strange way of being raised, I fought just like Luke with a sword, held up the sky, and gained a painful scar from admiring her mother's. (Luke is still my mother).

        One fateful day, I immediately decided of running away to find Camp Half-Blood, the place my mother always spoke of. When I was is New York, I was hit by a car... and the driver was Sally Jackson (Percy's mom). I ended up living with Percy and his mother until the school year ended. Then, near the end of the school year, Percy saw me fight a monster with his own sword, Anaklusmos (Riptide). I turned out to have awesome pickpocket skills!

        So, that's me, Lotus Castellan. I was lost: I didn't know anything about sword fighting, or the real world. Now I'm found: I have found my inner strength and learned to use it.
