4. Mother & Daughter Day out..

As soon as Laurent left, Layla was smiling and giggling.

"Oh dear! your friend is amazing!" Her mother told her while cleaning up..

"Thank you, mom! I feel the same.." She said while daydreaming.

They quickly cleaned up and went to their rooms..

***After half an hour***

(Knock-Knock)

There was a knock on Layla's bedroom door..

"Yeah mom, get in.." She said, not taking her eyes off her book.

"Hey, Baby girl!" Her mother teased her.. and as soon as Layla heard that, she looked up. But it was her mother standing there, and not him.

"Mom.. why would you call me that?" She blushed..

"Oh.. looks like someone's blushing.." Her mother said while trying to heat things up.

"Mom.. stop it! You making things worse!" She said in a casual way..

"Ok fine, let's be serious.. I need to talk to you, girl.." She said wiping her smirk off her face. After seeing that, Layla sat up straight.

"So.. let me ask you few questions.. Will you?" Her mother asked her. Layla nodded.

"Ok.. so.. what do you feel about 'Laurent'?" She was asking a serious question and wanted a serious answer too.

* Does this needs to start like this?* Layla asked herself. She wasn't ready for all this.

"Umm.. what do you mean by that??" She asked uncomfortably..

"Oh god! You are in college and you don't know what I mean!! I meant.. are you guys really just friends or.. are there feelings between both of you? Feelings like 'love'?" She talked clearly this time. She knew that her daughter was smart but she was acting like she doesn't know anything.

She blushed.. but said..

"No mom.. we are just friends, plus he treats me like his sister.. so there's no chance.." She was hesitating..

"Oh, ok.. but why has he kept your name 'baby girl'.. if there's nothing between you?" Her mother wondered out loud.

"I-I don't know.. I asked him.. but he told me that its because we two were very close friends.." She answered honestly.

"Oh-ok.. then take a leave from your college tomorrow.. We will have a mother-daughter day.. plus we can see if your friend misses you or not.." Her mother smiled..

Layla thought for moment and said..

"Sounds like a plan! But I don't want to hurt him.." Her joyful smile turned into a painful frown.

"Aww.. you wouldn't.. ok.. just believe.. now go to sleep" Her mother said while walking away. She got up to the door and when she turned the lights off, she said..

"Good night, baby girl!" She teased. Layla was blushing so much, that even in the dark her rosy cheeks were visible. 

*Good night, Laurent* She tucked herself in her blanket and slept.

***The next morning***

"Good morning, sweetie.. its 8 in the morning.. what time are you going to wake up?" Her mother said while opening the curtain to let the sunshine fill the room.

"I have already called your college, saying you will not be there today.." She said while folding her blankets.

"Thanks mom.." She said while stretching and yawning..

"So.. what's the plan for today?" She asked when she was finally awake.

"So.. first.. me and my daughter will go to the club cafe for brunch.. then.. we will go watch the new movie, then it will be around 4.. so after that we will go sunset boating and we will finish our day by going to the restaurant for our dinner.. ta-da!" She said as if she gave a performance..

"Very nice mom! I am pretty excited.." But her face told a different story..

"We can change the plans, if you don't like this one.." She said unhappily.

"No.. there's no problems in plans its something else.." She frowned.

"Ah! I see what it is.. It's Laurent.. isn't it?" She said having a relief on her face..

"Umm.. n-no" She said having natural blush all over her face.

"Oh come on, girl! you don't even know how to lie! He will be fine.. stop worrying.. go get ready for today! I am waiting!" She yelled and left.. but her heart was set on him.. She just wanted to meet him, anyhow. But she kept all her thoughts aside and focused on today..

She had a nice soothing shower and did some make up. She looked herself in the mirror for the final time and went downstairs to meet her mom..

"O.M.G! Look at you! Your boy's gonna be heads over heels on you, if he meets you now.." It was awkward for Layla to listen to all the things her mom said.. she was pretty friendly with her, but not this much..

"Ok mom.. shall we go?" She asked in a weird way. She was missing Laurent a lot. And whenever her mom said his name or anything, she felt like crying. But, her mom took her phone so she couldn't text him.

"Girl, you can talk to him tomorrow. It's our day today.." She said sadly, while locking the house.

"Ok mom.." She said.

They went to the club cafe for their brunch. And only for her mother's sake, she decided to enjoy and spend quality time with her..

Layla had a hot chocolate and pancakes with waffles and Leona had coffee and French toast.

"Thanks for the food, mom" She smiled naturally. She was trying her best to not to think about him.

 "It's ok, darling. Thank you for enjoying with me." She said happily. She was glad that Layla was trying to keep her friendship love aside for sometime, to enjoy with her.

Then they went to the cinema, to watch the movie. They watched the new movie.

***After 3 hours***

"That movie was amazing, mom! Thank you!" She said that and hugged her.

" I am glad you liked it. And now it's turn for sunset boating.." Her mom said, while checking at the time.

"Ok mom.. let's go!" She was very enthusiastic.

They left for the sunset boating..

***After 15 mins***

"Yay! I love sunset with boating.." Layla said, being stupid.

"Hahaha! I knew that!" Her mother said, laughing.

 They got in the boat..

"Arghhh!" Layla screamed as she was afraid, cause she thought she will fall in the water.

"Oh come on, baby! Don't scream! You will be fine!"  She told her. After, that Layla calmed down.

She balanced herself on the boat and kept control when her mother sat down.  They enjoyed boating a lot.

***After 45 Mins.*** 

"I loved it! But, ugh! I am tired" Her smile turns to a yawn.

"It's ok.. let's have dinner and go home.. Shall we?" Her mother asked.

"Yes mom.. let's go.." She said still trying her hard not to drift off.

They reached the restaurant, had their dinner and quickly left for home. It was an enjoying day.

They reached home.

"Mom.. I am really tired, but can I am thankful to you we really had a lot of fun.. but for now can I please have my phone.." She said still tired.

"Yes.. here you go.. but don't talk to him now, you are really tired. Call him tomorrow. Good night sweetie.." She gave her the phone and went to her room to sleep.

Layla walked to her room and before she could check her phone.. she drifted off..
