Fallen for a Vampire!

6. The Talk..

Laurent was really worried once the whole class left. He didn't knew what the teacher was going to talk about..

*Oh god this talk is going to be terrific!* He whispered to himself.

"No.. Mr. Knight. This talk is going to be good.. And you are going to love it!" His teacher said after overhearing what Laurent 'whispered'.

"Oh.." Laurent said in embarrassment.

"So.. Mr Knight.. is there something going on at your home or here at college?" He asked with a lot of tension.

"Umm.. N-No. Why would you ask that?" Laurent said confusingly.

"I just want to know what's going on with one of my fav. students.." He said casually.

"Since when am I your favourite student??" He asked quickly.

"Do you realise Laurent, that you used to be the best and fav. student of the class. But, I don't know why.. you got down and down.. day by day.. there's got to be some reason.." His teacher was actually concerned about him, this was out of Laurent's expectation. He was expecting his teacher to sit there and scream on him for being late all the time..

"Please.. Say something Laurent! I want my best topper student back. You were amazing before! You still are!.. its just you need to get back more attention on studies.." His teacher said as politely as possible.. (But he didn't quite realise, that he was kind of screaming..)

"Sir.. I promise I will try my best to be the Laurent that was a 'nerd'.. Haha! I mean the topper.." He said jokingly.

"Ok.. well that's it.. I have finished talking. So you are free to go now.. unless you want to stay.." His teacher said in a funny tone.

"Ok sir.. I will leave then.. Bye!" He smiled and left..

He was on his way to his house, when he thought about Layla.. And he suddenly wanted to meet her.. so he drove to her house.

As he reached there, he rang the bell. Soon Leona opened the door.

"Oh.. Hey Laurent! Get in!" Her mother said in a usual, warm and welcoming way.

"Hello Mrs. Blackbourne. How are you??" He asked in a polite way.

"I am fine, what about you.." Her mother said while closing the door behind her.

"Oh.. I am actually wanting to meet Layla.. But I can't see her around.. Where is she??" He asked while being a bit worried.

"I am sorry.. But she is not at home. I tried to ask, but she just walked off.." She said with worries on her.

"Oh.. I will try finding her. I will tell you once I get to her.. Don't worry it's going to be fine.." He said giving a supportive smile.

"Thanks Laurent.. It'll be really helpful!" She said with some hope in my eyes.

"So, I will quickly leave! I promise I will find her.." He said while exiting the room.

"Bye. Good Luck!" Her mother screamed.

Once Laurent left, Leona went to Layla's room and told someone..

"My dear he is gone.. Do you want to come out now?" Her mother asked politely.

"Thanks mum.. I know this was wrong but I had to do it.." Layla said as she came out of her room.

"But why did you do that? I mean, it literally looked like he was desperate to meet you.." Her mother said with a furrow in her brows. 

"Mom.. come sit here" She said while tapping at the place next to her on her bed. When she sat down Layla said..

"Mom.. Today I was waiting for Laurent after our math period.. He was supposed to stay behind because the teacher wanted to talk with him.. so I stood there listening to their conversation.. when I found out that he used to be a topper student but because of some reason he is going down and down.. I don't know if it's because of me or something else.. so I am going to try staying away from him for a while and see if he progresses or not.. and if he doesn't I will know that whatever it was.. it wasn't because of me.. You understand?" She said the whole thing that happened.

"Oh dear.. I am always here to help you and Laurent whenever you need it.. But at the moment I think you both should talk it out.. I mean you are really close to each other, so he might open up to you.. Do you think this will help?" Her mother suggested.

"I think you are right.. I mean we are close, but at the moment it will not be okay to go and meet him.. he will ask lots of question.. I will meet him the day after tomorrow. It will even show me if he has improved a bit or it's the same.. and we will open up to each other as well.." She said while thinking, how is she going to do that.

Her mother nodded and said..

"Well, okay then.. Do you want to eat anything?" Her mother asked politely.

"Sure mom.. I will be there for dinner in a minute.." She said while getting in the bathroom. Her mom left and started cooking.

*I am sorry Laurent.. But I am just thinking about you.. I don't want you to lose your intelligence because of me..* She said while stripping her clothes off. She got in the bath tub.. She was really upset, so instead of taking a shower she was taking a bath..

***AFTER 25 MINUTES***  

"Layla!! Dinner's ready!!!" Her mother screamed from the kitchen.

"OK mom! I will be there soon!" She yelled back. She quickly got out of her tub and wore her fav. pyjamas. She took her phone to check the time but she saw there were 50 missed calls from Laurent and 30 text message.. 

*Oh my god! I need to meet him!* She whispered to herself with her eyes filled with tears.. She ran downstairs..

"Mom!! I am going to meet Laurent! I can't do this anymore! He sent me 50 missed calls and 30 texts.. I need to talk to him.. He might be really worried!" She said with tears rolling down her eyes.. She ran to his house..

"LAURENT!!" She said breathlessly. Her mother came outside to see who is shouting.. When she saw Layla she said..

"Who are you, my darling? And why do you want Laurent?" Her mother asked politely.

"I am Layla. Laurent's friend.. He was finding me since morning and when I checked my phone there were lots of texts and missed calls from him.. I just need to talk to him.. You must be Mrs. Knight.." Layla quickly said.. catching her breath slowly..

"Oh.. so you are Layla.. And yes I am Mrs. Knight.. But Laurent isn't at home.. He left to find you and he hasn't returned yet.." Her mother said with sadness over her face..

"Oh.. I am really sorry.. but I will find him.. no matter what.. Don't worry!" She said with tears in her eyes. She quickly said bye to her and started walking..
