5. Meeting Laurent...

It was 6 in the morning. Layla woke up, when she heard her alarm burst into her ears. She looked at the time and went to get a power bath. She got ready and started walking downstairs. When suddenly she got a text by LAURENT..

'Hey, Layla.. just wondering if you are going to turn up today or not..'

When she read that she saw there were several other messages from him, so she said..

'Ya, I am going to be there.. and I am sorry for not replying yesterday.. mum had my phone with her.. See you soon..'

She quickly sprinted outside her house, plug earphones in her ears.. and started walking to college so she can meet him quickly..

She again got a text by him..

'Umm.. I need to talk to you.. Can you meet me at my house now..'

She always got chills down her spine, when she got messages like this. But she still answered..

'Oh okay..'

She walked to his house. She sent him a text, when she reached there. He quickly came out.

"Hey Layla! I missed you soo much yesterday! Why didn't you come? Are you ok?" He asked, looking at her from head to toe.

"I am perfectly fine.. My mom just wanted us to have a 'mom and daughter day'.. And she wanted me to only focus on her, so she took my phone away.. I'm sorry!"

He smiled.

"Umm.. I thought you needed to talk to me.. " Layla said kind of uncomfortably.

"Oh yes.. I needed to-" Before he could finish, Layla got her mom's call.

"Oh sorry Laurent.. Mom's calling.. I will quickly ask what she wants.. ok" Laurent nodded.

"Hey mom!" She said happily.

"Where are you?" Her mom asked doubtfully.

"I am.. with Laurent.. at his house.. Why?" She said weirdly.

"Umm.. My dear, weren't you supposed to take something for lunch?" Her mom said worryingly.

"Oh.. Mom, I was in a hurry.. I'm sorry. I will eat something in the canteen.. don't worry." She quickly said that and hanged up.

"DID YOU NOT EAT ANYTHING!!?" Laurent asked angrily.

"Umm.. N-No.. because I was dying to meet you!" She said quickly.

"Aww.. but this isn't getting you anywhere! Get in your car and we are going to get you your lunch.." He said while moving towards it.

"O-Ok.." She said.

They got in the car and Laurent was driving.

"Where are we going?" She asked looking at him.

"Your house.." He said, not taking his eyes off the road.

"What!? Why? We can eat somewhere else.." She said being restless.

"No.." He said when they reached to her house.

"Hello Mrs Blackbourne! Here she is.. You can handover the lunch now.." He smiled as he got in the house.

"Oh! Thank you so much, Laurent! You are such a caring friend!" They shook hands in joy.

"Ok.. Can we go now? Please! I have took my lunch.. here." Layla showed them the lunch box.

"Sure! Thanks again, Laurent.. See you soon" Her mother smiled and walked them to the door.

"See you soon, Mrs Blackbourne.. Bye!" Laurent waved and took Layla to the car.

"So.. I got you your lunch.. Happy?" Laurent teased.

"Yes.. I am very happy! I might burst in tears! Right now. Right Here!" She said sarcastically.

"Oh come on.. Baby girl! You can't be sarcastic to me.." He said while making a fake sad face.

"Oh like you really care.." Layla said while looking away.

He pulled the car aside and grabbed Layla..

*Baby girl.. You know I wanted to talk to you earlier.. so I was gonna say that.. * He was hesitating.. (WOW! That was a first!)

"Laurent.. listen to me.. breath.. in.. breath.. out.." Layla was trying to calm him down and help him say what he wants.

"Layla.. is it fine if I tell you later?? Right now.. I don't know how to say it.. " He said with confused eyes.

"Y-Yeah.. It's ok.." Layla said.

"Can I drive?" She asked.

"It's ok.. I can drive.. I don't mind.." Laurent said.

"Oh ok.." Layla said while siting in the front passenger seat.

Laurent got in the driver seat and they started moving.. Layla was staring outside the window wondering what he wanted to say..

"Umm.. Layla.." Laurent said deeply.

"Yeah.." She said.

"Are you ok?" Laurent asked concernly.

"Yeah.. absolutely.. I am fine.." She lied. She didn't wanted to upset him in anyway, so she stayed silent.

They shared a look and before they could say anything, the college arrived. So they got off and Laurent handed over the keys to Layla and said..

"I am sorry, Layla.." He said with his face down.. Layla lifted his face up and said..

"Say sorry, when you make a mistake.. and now.. you haven't made any. I know sometimes, it's hard to say what you want.. and I understand that.. so please don't say sorry. Tell me whenever you are ready.." She said that, (fake) smiled and left.

Laurent was still there, astonished. He didn't knew how did he got so lucky as he has the best friend in the whole wide world.. She is understanding, caring, funny and sarcastic.. She was just perfect..

"Laurent Knight! Your parents don't pay fees for you to linger around in the corridor! Go to your class. Right.Now!" The principal was right behind him, screaming in his ears.

"Sorry sir, I was just about to go.." Laurent said and ran off. The principal shook his head and went to his office.

"May I come in sir?" Laurent just arrived to his class. He had maths again. His teacher was having that anger flowing in his eyes, that showed that Laurent was going to get in a lot of trouble today.

"Please stay in here after class, Mr. Knight.." The teacher said when he arrived.

*Oh god! What have I got myself into!* He whispered to himself..

*** AFTER 1 HOUR***

The bell just rang to finish the class.. as soon as Laurent got up to leave the class, the teacher said..

"Mr. Knight.. I need to have a talk with you. Remember?" The angry old teacher said while raising one of his brow.

"Y-Yes sir.. I remember.." Laurent said and sat back down..

*This is not a good start.. * Laurent thought as fear covered him.
