"Hey guurl!" Alison yells in excitement as she waves at me from inside her car.

I laugh, opening the door as I take a seat in passenger side.

"So I'm guessing a "motorcycle ride with Tristan to the party" was a no?" She stared at me in amusement.

I shoot her a "are you kidding me?" look, and she pushes out a light giggle. "I... no. I felt uncomfortable asking him." I stare down at my hands as they sit intertwined together in my lap.

"Oh come on!" She pushes my shoulder playfully, "I know you like him." she starts the car, as we begin driving down the road, to the party at one of the "popular kids" houses.

Some guy on the football team has huge parties every weekend in his dads mansion. Or so I've heard from Alison. Anyone who wants to go is invited. So Alison suggested that I go with her, that it'd "give me a chance to meet new people".

"I'm too awkward! You know this Alison. I'm so bad at talking to people, if I even get a chance to make conversation with him tonight I'll probably word vomit." I stare out of the window, my head resting on my supported arm as I sigh.

"I don't care what you say, you two are at least having ONE conversation. Doesn't matter what it's about." She turns her head in my direction, leaning in, "JUST TALK TO HIM."

"FINE!" I yell, as we laugh together.

We pull up to the house, Alison checking her appearance in the mirror, closing it shut then turning her head to me. "Ready?"

"As I'll ever be." I open the door, we then make our way to the house together. The bass of the music making my heart rate increase, I can feel my hands already starting to sweat. What? This isn't really my scene, so don't judge me for being the slightest bit nervous.

"Lez do this thang!" Alison laughs, grabbing my hand, pulling me faster to the front door.

She knocks a couple of times, then leans into my ear "Don't be nervous." sending me a comforting look. I smile back at her. The door immediately opening.

"Heyyyyyyaheheha" A guy who stunk of alcohol, slung the door open. "Come on in ladiieeszz." He says, dragging out every word in a slur.

"Hi Dustin." Alison spoke flatly, in annoyance, as she drags me through the door. The guy staring me down, making me slightly uncomfortable.

"You know him?" Me and Alison shuffle through people as we then reach the kitchen, she starts pouring us shots.

"It doesn't matter." She passes me the shot, of what I assume is Vodka. "But what does matter, is that we have fun. Now drink!" She clinks her shot with mine, then drinks it smoothly in one go.

I hesitate before drinking mine too. I gulp it down with a horrible taste invading my mouth. "Ugh!" I shake my head in disgust.

"Whooow!!" Alison yells in excitement, throwing her hands in the air. "Let's go dance!" She speaks loudly in my ear through the music. I nod, she grabs my hand again, leading us to the dance floor.

I sway my hips to the beat, it felt as though everything and everyone around me was in slow motion. I feel so alive and in the moment.
