Part 5
Safe And Sound
"RICK MAKE IT STOP!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Hershel was pouring alcohol on my wound. Ricks eyes were as blue as the ocean. He was staring at me. "Shhh. It's ok Ray. It's nearly over. Just stay with me." Rick soothed me. Pain rose from my body as I screamed. "HERSHEL!! YOUR KILLING HER!" Rick yelled as he turned around to face the old man who was working on my bleeding wound. "Rick. If you want her to live, she has to go through the pain." Hershel replied calmly. Ricks eyes were watering with salty water. "Rick.... Ugh... Please make it stop...." I groaned. Pain controlled my body and I blacked out into complete darkness.
My eyelids fluttered open and Ricks eyes were so close to mine. Beautiful jewels that sparkled in the misty moonlight. "Your awake!" He cheerfully commented in a whisper. I nodded as I studied his reflective eyes. His hair was a shimmering, chocolate brown and his lips looked so soft and kissable. How could anyone be so god damn perfect? I flinched at the slight pain in the side of my stomach. "Sorry babe. It might hurt for a few days. Just keep resting." Did he just call me babe? Ugh god, I think that I might just melt into a pool of butter. He gently stroked my hair and softly kissed my forehead. "Get some rest." He repeated and headed for the door. I acted fast and reached out for him. He immediately turned around and faced me again. "Please... Please don't go." I swiftly said. A warm smile stretched across his face and he sat on the rocking chair by the side of my bed. "So... What did you do before the world went to shit?" I asked curiously. A tiny spark light in Ricks eyes. "I was the Sherrifs Deputy." He blandly replied. "I bet you missed that." I commented. "Yeah I do. But I forget about it. You have to keep moving on. What about you?" He asked. His face filled with calmness. "Well... I was a waitress for a while but-" I got interrupted as Daryl walked into the cell. "Everything alright?" He blandly asked. Rick nodded. "Yeah. You alright?" I asked. He gently nodded. "Sorry about what happened out there." Daryl apologised in his rusty voice. "Don't worry about it." I quickly replied. "Get some rest." I smiled and he nodded. Daryl threw his black crossbow over his shoulder and walked out the door. Rick looked back at me. "Anyway where were we?" He asked. "Ugh.... I can't remember..." I replied as I struggled to think about what we were chatting about. Rick sprang to his feet and walked closer to me. He leaned closer to me. We were about one centre metre away from each other. "Oh, I remember." He said in his husky voice. He smirked and crashed his lips into mine. They were so soft and dreamy. Our lips collided into an amazing rhythm. His hands combed through my knotted hair. I wrapped my arms around his neck and we were happy. I heard someone cough and we immediately pulled away. Daryl was standing at the door. I could feel my face heat up with embarrassment. I darted my eyes down to the floor. "Ugh... Sorry to interrupt, but I'm going on a run... Want anything?" He asked. Rick smiled which melted my heart. "Could you get a box of sleeping pills?" He questioned. "Why? Can't you sleep?" Daryl questioned. "Oh no it ain't for me. It's for Ray." Daryl nodded and walked out the door. Rick turned to look at me and brightly smiled. "Why do I need sleeping pills?" I asked. Rick walked closer to me. "Because I can't resist kissing you." We giggled and he kissed my nose. "Get some rest."
