I had been homeschooled my whole childhood, I honestly didn't have very many friends growing up, because of how sheltered I was. The only real friend I did have though, was Alysa Myers, the girl who lived next door.

She and I were basically inseparable growing up, but Oh, so different. I was very shy and I liked to keep everything to myself usually, except for when it came down to Alysa. She was really good at always being able to read my facial expressions and get all my secrets out of me. I basically ended up telling her everything, whether I wanted to or not.

She, on the other hand, is very outgoing. She has always been that way. Sometimes I would get jealous of her, because she had a lot more friends than I did and she got to go to public school, while I stayed at home, keeping to myself. But after school and on the weekends she always came over and told me all about what was going on, and what the world holds for me, when I finnaly get old enough to actually be apart of it.

She loved to gossip too, and since she was super popular around town and in school, if she wasn't busy making me or herself over, or shopping, or trying on all her clothes, she was gossiping.

She had a way of making everyone out to be scandelous and she was always up to date on everybody else's social drama. I honestly, looked foward to her stories, because she made life seem so interesting.

With her bright, all most completely white, platinum blonde hair and dark blue eyes, she grew up with a pretty vain image of herself. But you couldn't really blame her for it, she was so gorgeous, you allmost thought to yourself, well, she has a right to be.
Not to mention, her many boyfriends, she had over the past few years. Ever since she got her first bra, she got a boyfriend like 3 days later, and she has had one ever since. Not the same guy, but you get the picture.

I had never had a boyfriend before. So her crazy love life intrigued me. I wasn't even sure if I would ever have one, but a girl can dream. Alysa did her best to prepare me though for the future, and explained every little thing to me about dating and such. But still, the thought of having my own boyfriend was exciting as it was nerve racking.

I mean, I was far from a barbie doll, like Alyssa. I was the complete opposite. I had dark olive colored skin, had blackish red wavy hair, and light green eyes. I never wore the latest fashions, and I only got made up, on special occasions, and for fun at our sleepovers.

The only thing we actually had in common was that both our parents were filthy rich. Her mom and dad owned the land beside our 100 acre apple plantation. Her mom and my mom, were very close themselves, and they both love to shop and go out while me and Alysa would play and catch up. Like I said before, its been me and Alysa, and only me and Alyssa since as long as I can remember.

So it was no surprise to me when she snuck into my bedroom that day, and placed my birthday gift from her at the front of my day bed.
