"Excuse me?" I said as I stepped up to the counter." Mam do you happen to know what this city is called?" I felt stupid asking her but I seriously didn't know where I was.
She stared at me for a moment, I felt like she could read me like a book, it was very awkward when she replied, "You are in County Louth. You must be another one of those Americans." She huffed, I guess they don't think very highly of the US I thought to myself.
"Ok do you know where I could find a map? Maybe? I smiled my best smile but she still looked very annoyed.
"Top shelf, over there, on the wall...?" She replied again irritated. I knew I probably wasn't setting the best impression of an American, but oh well, she will get over it."
I walked over to the shelf and bought me a map of the world. Ok, it took me a long time to find the city, but, once I did, I was surprised to find out I wasn't on the other side of the world. I was in Ireland. Which was great, only two 12 hour flights. The bad thing was the only way logically to get there was to cross the north Atlantic ocean. And all though angels can fly very fast it wasn't like lightening. It would take me at least 24 hours, and the scenery wasn't ideal because that's a whole lotta ocean. The only good thing is I could rest 1 hour in the mountains of the Mid Atlantic Ridge.
So it would take me about two days and a half to get to Texas and rest for the night. Once I got to Texas it would take me six hours on the third day to get back to my home in California.
This was perfect timing, by the time Keller comes home I would have at least a day to warn my parents about all that was going on. Hopefully they will take me seriously and vacate but that would take a long proccesing time, but they could stay at one of my aunts or uncles till they find a secure safe place to move.
So I then thanked the lady behind the counter and bought a sandwich because I was starving and needed the extra energy before I started my flight.
After I left the store, I walked back to the hills and when I was sure no one would see me. I then pluggedin my ear phones to my cell phone and turned on my longest and favorite playlist to occupy my mind and body as I would fly over the ocean. Then when I was all ready I began to fly again, as I stretched out my wings and flew up into the air.
It took me roughly 10 hours to make It to the Mid Atlantic Ridge and it was far after the sun had come down. I actually enjoyed flying in the darkness more than daylight. The wind was much more steasy and very cool that night. The moon was alive and shining above me as I flew and landed on the island. I have to admit I was quite sleepy. So I rested on the Rocky Mountain tops. It was not comfortable but it was definatly necessary and doable.
I slept about six hours, which I needed about 8, but I was so worried about my family it took me over two hours to fall asleep that night. As exhausted as I was, I had to make it home on time. Timing was essential and had to be rushed. I was determined to make it by my schedule. So There wad nothing to do once I awoke except fly again, next stop the pan handle of Texas.
It took me 14 hours to get to Texas because the stretch of ocean wad much much longer than the other side of the mid Atlantic Ridge. But I made it, Thank God, I thought to myself as I landed in a huge corn field in Amarillo, Texas. I then walked twenty minutes into the city. I had to find a hotel room for the night, and this time I was sure I would have no problem falling asleep because I was not only so tured, after sleeping on some hard rocks, a comfy hotel bed, sounded amazing to me.
The first hotel I came to was The Hilton. It seemed perfect. It had everything I was hoping for. I got me a king size bed room for one. Then since it was 8:30pm at night, I still had time to stop and eat at the attached country Kelly's Kitchen that was attached to the hotel.
I got me a hot plate of chickan fried steak and mashed potatoes and white gravy. Yum, it was fantastic just what I needed. It definatley hit the spot. After that I walked up to my room, opened and double locked the doors, and plopped down on the big comfortable pillow top mattress and passed out...
In the morning I ordered breakfast in bed with room service. I had only a few hours to go, and this time I can even stop for lunch in between flying. This was at least an option that I didnt have over the ocean. Anyways, I got me a bagel and some pancakes and spicy sausage, ate every bit of it. After I elevated down the elevator, check out, and began the 20 minute walk to the cornfeild I had stopped at last night.
I was on day three. I thought, and began to worry, Keller would be home today, and I didnt know when the eact time would be if it would be early or later, for all I knew he could already be home and on his way to get me back. This sent shivers up my spine, not only could I never go back there, I also had a strong feeling in my stomach that if I saw Keller right now, I would be taken away by my lust and love for him. Which means I might change my mind about leaving him and that was not an option for me.
I went back to the cornfield and began my final shorter flight to Cali and I got there around 6pm, This time I landed in my own backyard. There was nothing left to hide anyways, my parents allready knew my secret. At least I thought they did.
