It felt as if my head was going to explode, like literally blow up.
I will never in my life drink any type of alcohol again!
i made my way to the bathroom, deciding it was best to take a long, cold shower.
After my shower i put on a blue and white Yankees t-shirt that i had gotten from my mom at my first baseball game, skinny jeans, some black vans, and a denim jacket. After deciding that i looked almost decent, i headed down the hall to get something to drink.
"look who finally decided to wake up." dad said as i made my way to the kitchen, he stood hovered over a plate of sausage and eggs.
"good morning to you too." I said as I went to fridge, looking for some ginger ale.
"try again hun," dad said making his way towards me.
"try what again, dad?" I said, annoyed at my father's unclear statements.
"it's 3:30 in the afternoon, not morning. Your brunch is in the microwave.'' I sighed and opened the microwave to reveal eggs and bacon.
"dad, you know I can't eat this." said placing the plate on the counter.
"what, why not?' he asked dumbfounded, "uhm, i'm a vegan. you know those people who don't consume animal products, not to mention it's bad for your heart." I laughed and grabbed an apple, attempting to go up to my room.
"i don't think so Lydia, park it. We need to talk." dad crossed his arms.
with an over dramatic sigh, I turned around and sat in one of the kitchen chairs.
"do you think it's acceptable for you to pull stunts like last night?"
"dad it honestly wasn't that big of a deal, I was just having a little fun with my friends"
"fun? do you not realize how worried I was, you didn't answer my calls I even tried calling that catholic boy you hang out with all the time."
"come on dad I didn't know that I was going to be gone so long- wait you called raphael, how do you even have his number"
"that doesn't matter, what matters is that I thought I could trust you to make good decisions. but obviously I can't. I don't want you leaving this house for any reason. do you understand me?"
"really?" I hissed as I stood from the table in anger. "That's ridiculous i'm almost eighteen years old! I am basically an adult."
"exactly! you're almost an adult and you still act like a child! things are going to have to change around here, one way or another. you're not a little kid anymore Lydia. there are rules in this house and if you won't accept them, then you leave me no choice but to punish you" my father's words stung. I knew he didn't mean it, but I didn't care. I was too angry to worry about what i was saying to him.
"fine then, I guess if these are the rules for your house, then i'll be happy to leave!" I screamed turning around and walking out of the house, making sure to slam the old screen door.
I didn't know where I was going to go, or how I was going to get there but I knew that I had to get away from everything for a bit.

I started walking down some run down street, I put my earbuds in and let the sound of my music calm me. I hoped the walking would help with my headache, which by now had quadrupled.
It was beautiful outside, i had trees on both sides of me, and you could tell there was a pond somewhere because of the fish smell, a few cars passed in a hurry, but i was used to it. I lived in a small town right outside the busy streets of New York, so this is as country as it gets.
i walked for a few more minutes before realizing that I had no food, water, or clothes. I would have to go back when my dad was at work to get my things.
"i need to pee." I mumbled as I saw a servo a few yards away.
i walked for about 5 more minutes before reaching the door to the old store, and as I walked in I heard a little 'ding' from above me.
"Hello, welcome to Rudy's, do you need help finding anything ma'am?" a older woman behind the counter asked dryly.
"uhm actually yeah, do you happen to have a restroom?"
"you have to buy something to use our restroom, store policy." the lady said pointing at a sign that said 'must buy something to use restrooms'.
i rolled my eyes and walked down the drink aisle. I scanned over all of the drinks, eventually choosing a green tea.
i walked up to the register and put the tea on the counter. the older woman scanned it and put it in a bag, "that'll be 99 cents."
i handed her a dollar bill and took the bag.
"restrooms around back, here's the key" the woman said gesturing towards the back of the store with her long, bright orange and green claws.
after I finished my business I returned the keys, and made my way back home, wanting to get my things before my dad made it home.
