I walk down the halls of Angel Grove high with a mad look on my face

I walk down the halls of Angel Grove high with a mad look on my face. I guess a Saturday detention isn't that bad of a punishment considering I did get caught kissing in the janitors closet. The following days after getting caught I was mad at Hunter. I mean he always does little inappropriate things like that. I guess we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm slightly less mad today but still a little pissed.

It also doesn't help that instead of going to detention he gets out with a warning. I guess that being the principals son does have its perks but it's totally not fair. He's just as much at fault for this then I am.

I walk pass the bubbler only to see the famous Mr.Jason Scott. He sends a awkward wave my way getting an eye roll from me in return.

Me and Jason were really close in middle school. Before he started playing football. We we're inseparable, we told each other everything. We thought nothing could stop us. That was until high school came along.

I snap back to reality by Jason saying, "Nice to see you to Ken" in a sarcastic tone. I turn around staring at him with a blank expression on my face.

"Don't call me that. You haven't called me that in years don't start again now." He looks back at me with a shocked expression. Before he has a chance to reply I turn back around and continue walking to the detention room. I open the door only to be greeted with the sounds of several douche bags moaning "oh hunter" and "yes more" pretending to be me. I ignore them and walk down the metal stair case.

I choose a seat right behind Billy Cranston, some guy I used to talk to a lot in geology class sophomore year. I wrap my bag around the edge of my chair and turn my attention to the detention teacher.

Nothing happens for a few more seconds until Jason walks down the stairs. The same douche bags that were moaning when I walked in were now mooing for Jason. I still can't believe Jason tried to put a cow in the locker room.

I pull out my writing notebook and start writing a poem. It's been my dream for a while to publish a poetry book. Although I doubt any of these stupid high school poems will make it to the final copy it's nice to have something to work on.

I keep my focus on my writing until I hear a slap go across someone's face. I look up to see Jason saying "I know, weird right?" To some redhead bully. Probably the one who started all of the moaning when I walked in. I brush it off and go back to writing.

Suddenly I'm interrupted by the teacher announcing that detention was over. Wow that was fast. I shove my notebook into my back pack and sling it over my shoulder. I start to walk to my car before someone taps my shoulder.

"Hey, Maia can we um talk for a minute?" Jason says while I turn around.

"What? It's not Ken this time?" I say crossing my arms. Jason let's out a small laugh. I don't send one back in return. I wiggle my eyebrows signaling him to continue talking.

"Well um I don't really know why we stopped talking but-" I interrupt him by saying,

"That's because you decided to become this popular asshole instead of talking to your friend who really needed you." Once again Jason was stuck on what to say. We stay looking at each other until Billy comes and thanks Jason.

I walk outside and to my car. I start up the engine thinking about Jason and all of the great times we had together. I hate to admit it but I miss him. Of course I'm not gonna show it. I can't let him get to know me again and then flake on me just like he did freshman year. I'm not gonna go back to that asshole. No matter how much I want to.
