After school Billy, Jason, and I had agreed to go back to the mine. I offered to drive because of Jason's leg, and Billy's fear of driving so we met up in the parking lot after last period.
"Hey Maia." I turn to my right to see Billy said walking with Jason next to his side.
"Hey guys." I say re-adjusting my backpack strap on my shoulder.
"You ready to go?" Jason asks putting his arms on the top of my car, looking right at me. Suddenly Kimberley Hart comes over and stands right next to me.
"Hey are you guys going to the mine?" She asks us.
"Yeah we were about to leave." Jason says looking at me as if asking if it was alright if she came.
"You want to come?" I ask answering Jason's que.
"Yeah if it's alright. I just really need to know what happened last night."
"I think that's all what we all want right now." I sigh.
"Yeah. Let's go." Jason says. I open the car door. Jason sits in the passengers seat and Billy and Kim sit in the back. I drive out of school and off to the mine.
Most of the drive is spent in silence. That is until Billy leans in between Jason and I and turns up the radio. Some pop song starts playing and Billy starts dancing and singing in the back.
I try to hold in my laughter but fail miserably. Billy Cranston dancing in the back of my car wasn't something I would've thought would happen three days ago but now I don't now what to think.
Billy starts to sing louder and now Jason is laughing with me. The next song plays and the dancing and singing continues until we reach the mine.
Jason turns down the music, despite Billy's protests. We pass the van we were in last night, crushed and destroyed. We all saw it but nobody said anything. It was a vast change from all the singing that was happening just moments before.
We start walking, not quite sure where we're going.
"Look it's that guy." I say pointing towards the 'leather jacket boy' from last night.
"Find anything interesting?" Jason yells to the boy standing by the other side of the cliff
"If I do I'm keeping it." He replies making Jason laugh. God his laugh is cute.
"We know why you're here." Kimberley says.
"Oh yeah? You guys wake up surprised to be alive and jump over a house?" The boy says.
"Yeah. Kinda. Well no. Ev-everything's different." Billy screams to the boy.
"You're Zach right?" Kimberley asks. I wonder how she knows that. I mean I've never seen him before. The boy answers with a simple yep.
"You still go to Angel Grove?" Jason says.
"Yeah sometimes." I look to the side to see Jason laughing again. I can hold back my smile this time no matter how much I try. "You know the other girl was here to. About an hour ago." Zach says. I look behind him to see a girl.
"You mean her?" I point out.
"Hey come on down." Jason's says. "Let's figure this out together." The girl gives no response. Instead she just runs up the rock at an unbelievable speed. Everyone gasps. I swear I heard a curse word or two one out of Kim's mouth.
Kimberley takes a step back before jumping across the rock and landing right where the girl once stood.
"Holy shit." I say before I take step back and jump just like Kimberley. Soon after Billy and Jason follow sending us to an even bigger cliff then before.
"You have a coin,we have a coin I mean we should just talk about it. We don't know what it-" Kimberley starts to say but gets interrupted by the girl jumping, yet again, across the cliff.
"Woah." I say in complete shock. This is insane.
"You're crazy. But so am I." Zach says, stepping backwards preparing to jump. We all try to stop him still thinking that this is a bad idea. But he jumps anyway.
He lands right on the girl grabbing her ankle and saying, "I got her."
Kim is the next to jump landing right next to the stranger girl in the yellow beanie. That's three for three. I think starting to think maybe I should jump.
I turn to face Jason and say, "Jump with me Scotty."
"What? Ken are you crazy?" He says. I start to blush when I hear him call me Ken. Making me grin like a goofy idiot.
"Oh come one if they can do it we can do it!" Jason looks at me and then looks at Billy before hesitantly saying,
"I'm gonna jump with her and then you jump. Ok? Piece of cake." Billy starts freaking out saying he can't do it. I grab Jason's hand, still smiling like a kid in a candy store, and start to run. We jump still holding hands.
I land on top of Jason. I roll off of him while saying, "You ok?"
"No problem." He says spitting blood. I laugh and offer him a hand. He instantly takes it and helps himself up.
"You got this Billy." Jason yells trying to make him feel better.
"No I don't. It's to far of a jump." Billy starts pacing. All of us begin to say reassuring things to Billy hoping he would just face his fear and jump.
All of a sudden Billy comes running. He jumps all of us screaming in shock. Quickly he lands, almost missing it.
"Come on Billy pull yourself up." Jason says going over to help him. He pulls himself up on the cliff.
"Good job Billy!" I say while clapping. After a moment everyone else joins in. Billy was so proud he started doing a happy dance. It was adorable.
Until suddenly he slips on a rock and falls backwards. I gasp along with everyone.
"No. No no Billy!" I scream leaning over the cliff to see him fall into blackness. I knew this was a bad idea. ~~~~~~~~~ A/N: holy cow 80 reads in 2 days what!! I really like writing this story so I will most likely post everyday! Unless that gets annoying lol {edit} um so now it's at 100 reads and I've only posted this part like an hour ago!! Omg what!
