Menglin woke up with a throbbing head. His eyelids felt heavy and his throat was dry from crying nonstop last night. The pain shooting from his hand was unbareble.
"What happened?"
He mumbled to himself clutching his head. He carefully touched the injured hand and frowned. When did he injured his hand?
Suddenly the last night flashes occurred to him, his unpleasant evening with his parents and the arguments.
How could they? What do they take him for? A puppet?
He knew the consequences of his behaviour, but he couldn't bring himself to care anymore. His life was a mess. All his life he ever wanted was love and support. However his parents never saw the need of it, blinded by wealth and power.
He tried to be a better son. He really did. He obeyed their every single word. He changed schools as they wanted, he moved abroad as they wanted even it was hard for a 9 year old kid to adapt to a new environment in a span of one week. He had no friends for a long time. Being separated from his peers made him depressed and anti social. He had a driver to escort him straight home and a nanny to look after his needs. His parents were either in China or UK or any other country he failed to catch on. Even if they visited USA it was of course because of their business appointments nothing else.
It was until he had developed a serious case of mental unstabality after months of constant nightmares and panic attacks as a result of the kidnapping occurred a year ago. His doctors ordered them to take him back where he felt safe back in China, which they did unpleased by the disturbance. It took him months to come out of his shell and socialise with peers. His academics weren't the best but he did his best. They improved as he got back to his usual self, courtesy of Fandy the psycho.
They met for the first time when Fandy was chased by their principle for ditching detention. The latter had the nerve to flip his finger and jump over the wall.
Menglin watched as a tall prefect kept asking for forgiveness on his behalf. Later he found out the prefect wearing spectacles was a senior and is the best friend of the said psycho.
Fandy Fan was his name. He owned a pair of mischievous looking eyes which inspected every little detail of Menglin's body making him feel fidgety. He had once again no doubt ditched his classes to sneak in to the gym where his best friend Zach Lu the prefect wearing glasses was playing volleyball.
Menglin who wasn't good at any sport by any means wondered how did he stuck with the psycho in a volleyball match. He was minding his own business at the corner of the gym being in his own anti social world until the hyperactive maniac dragged him to the court out of nowhere. It was nice to feel like a normal person for a while.
Zach scolded at first for ditching classes but in the end couldn't say no to the puppy face. Their team won and Menglin was rewarded with a broken nose. It hurt like a bitch yes but it was good to feel cared and loved. The trio had been inseparable ever since. Menglin was the new best friend of Fandy the psycho whereas Zach's status went up to his first love and boyfriend. Zach would help Menglin with his studies, Menglin would assist Fandy's pranks, Fandy would somehow get Zach the goody two shoes in to trouble and they'll all be spending the evening at the detention room.
