seven.maybe if i pinch myself really hard, i would wake up. but then again, i've been pinching myself for two whole minutes straight, and i'm pretty sure that blood was already coming out my forearm.
i've been blinking and staring unbelievably at ellis the moment he spoke. i still haven't answered him. i was still sitting down, squinting up at his standing tall frame.
"you're not dreaming fleur." ellis spoke, then it finally sunk in that i was in reality.
i shook my head and stood up. ellis took a small step back, which gave both of us a few spaces apart. he was grinning at me as i still had a bewildered look.
"really?"
"really." he reassured.
i nodded slowly. "okay then." i started, "then who am i?"
ellis let out a soft chuckle. "you're fleur, my best friend."
best friend. the sound stuck to my head. i was his best friend today, just his friend. he remembered today, but just a little bit.
"yeah i am your best friend." i said, trying hard not to let my voice shake and break.
ellis furrowed his eyebrows, "you're acting weird today." he remarked. ellis walked to my side and grabbed my arm, linking my arm to his. then he shrugged, "but that's okay."
ellis started to walk, me being carried along to his direction. he looked so happy and excited at the same time, that i didn't even want to ask him anything else he remembers.
"where are we going anyway?" i asked as he held my hand tightly, excitedly dragging me along.
ellis chuckled, "we, my dear fleur, are going to make a very very very," he paused for a second, "very cliche day slash montage-ish."
i stopped on my tracks, tilted my head to the side and looked at ellis.
"what? why are you looking at me like that?" ellis asked. he let go of my hand and ran his hand through his shaggy hair.
"so we are making a very very very very cliche day slash montage-ish together?" i questioned.
ellis nodded his head, then started to walk again as i followed beside him. "yes. just you and me." ellis clarified. "we'll make one, just like those ones in chic flicks and other cheesy romantic films, and we'll have tons of fun."
i shook my head and laughed at his crazy idea.
ellis grabbed my hand then he started to walk briskly, "come on."
"but seriously where are we going?"
ellis only turned to me, almost hitting a stranger, and gave me a mischievous grin.
after walking for a few minutes, ellis and i ended up at a children's playground -a big one at that. it was an indoor playground with cushions everywhere, long slides, ball pits, trampolines and many other silly obstacles.
"ellis?" i called him as we entered the large building. we were now walking side by side, but the excitement on his face still hasn't wiped off.
"yeah?" he turned his head towards me.
"tell me why we're in here?" i wondered aloud.
ellis thought for a second, "because there are no theme parks anywhere here or carnivals or any events, and disneyland is too far away," he explained, "so we're here."
"in a children's playground?" i asked with a confused expression. ellis nodded. "aren't we too old and too big?"
he shrugged as we reached the counter to register in. "it's still cliche right?" i nodded. "so it still counts. besides the nannies of these children get to go inside too, so we're not the only old ones. and there's a gigantic ball pit so don't kill the fun." ellis stated.
