It was in the middle of the night when my phone started to ring, waking me up and keeping me from falling asleep again. Still half asleep I fumbled for it on my nightstand, throwing something over in the process. I took one look at the lockscreen with weary eyes before accepting the call and sitting up in my bed. "Babe, what's up? It's late over here." A small sob was heard on the other end of the line. With that quiet sound you suddenly were fully awake getting really worried. "Babe, what's up? What happened? Is everything ok? Are the boys alright?" It was silent for a few minutes then I heard Harry take in some breath and letting out one last sob before finally starting to talk. "Y-yeah the boys are alright." He said with a hoarse voice. "I-it's Will... M-my mother j-just called me and t-told me he was in a ca-" A loud sob was heard again with a quivering voice. "Babe, calm down! I can't understand you. It's okay!" Another sob was heard "No it's not! He isn't ok! W-will had a car crash! H-he's dead!" I was shocked for a few minutes. Will was one of Harry's oldest and closest friends back from his childhood days. I tried to give him comfort and tried to calm him down but that wasn't working really well since it was hard to get him to calm down over the phone without hugging him and spending him comfort physically.
After a long night of talking to him on the phone I was now on the airport in Paris, waiting for Paul to pick me up. While trying to comfort Harry over the phone I booked a ticket for the next flight to France to help him. Here I was dragging my small trolley behind me while looking out for Paul. After a few minutes of searching I finally found him in crowd. He flashed me a genuine smile and took my suitcase out of my hand to help me. "How is he doing?" I asked him worried. He crinkled his brows slightly while his mouth formed a thin line. "Not good, the lads do their best but he's really down. I'm glad you came, it will help him to have you here." I smiled at him softly and nodded my head. A short ride later we arrived at the hotel where Paul handed me the key for Harry's room and wished me good luck. Taking one last deep breathe I unlocked the door stepping into the hotel room. "Li, I'm ok! I told you don't need to care for me all day!" I heard a raspy voice from the bedroom. I didn't react to his words, I just put my suitcase to the side in the hall and then headed for the bedroom. Harry was lying there tangled up in the blankets with his face buried into the cushion. I crossed the room and sat down beside him making the mattress dip down a little. Letting my hands carefully brush through his messy hair I bowed down and placed a small kiss on the side of his face. He turned to me, his eyes red and puffy. I flashed him a small smile and brushed his hair out of his face, rubbing away a tiny tear. Before I could do anything else he had his arms wrapped around my waiste and was crying in my lap, clinging to me for dear life. "Shhh, it's ok, babe, I'm here now." I mumbled sweet things while brushing through his curls trying to calm him down and comfort him. Eventually his sobs got lighter and after some time he finally fell asleep. When he woke up the next morning I had already ordered something to eat from the room service since he hadn't eaten the last day. I thanked the employee and then carried the tablet to the bed where Harry was snoring lightly. Brushing my hand over his face softly I woke him up carefully. "Babe, it's already morning and I got some breakfast for us!" Slowly he opened his eyes shortly flashing me a smile then sitting up and moving closer to me and the food. After eating a few bites he suddenly looked at me with wide eyes. "Oh god, what are you doing here? You should write a big test today!" I just smiled at him softly. "It's okay, Harry, I'll take it again in a month!" He shook his head no but I just put my hand under his chin making him look at me. "Yeah, I can and I will! Harry this is no problem, I'd rather be here by your side and helping you than writing a dumb test."
It had been a week since Will's death and right now I was preparing myself for the funeral which I had to attend with Harry in a few minutes. I put on my pearl earrings and the suiting necklace, then I turned to leave the bathroom to go to Harry who was putting on his suit in his old bedroom, since we were staying at his parents for the funeral. He was standing in front of the mirror trying to tie his tie. I crossed the room and wrapped my arms around his torso, spending him comfort. His hands were shaking violently and he just couldn't make it to do the knot. I placed a short kiss on his cheek then turned him around to me putting his hands down and tying his tie myself. "You okay, babe?" I asked in a mumble while concentrating on his outfit. I felt him nod his head and when the tie was in a neat knot I pulled him into me and looked up at him. "You know, Harry, Will wouldn't have wanted you to stay sad all the time.. He would have told that it's okay to be sad for some time but after that you need to pull your head out your ass and live for the things you still have!" I said, imitating his best friends voice at the last part. He laughed shortly then nodded. "Yeah he definitely would have said something like that." I gave him a short kiss, then took his hand and turned to the door. "Come on, we need to go!"
I was standing next to Harry holding his hand close in mine while we took a step forward and let a rose fall into the hole onto the coffin. A silent tear ran down his face. "You know buddy, I never thought I would lose you this way. I thought you would stay there forever. I really need you, who else should give me advice or keep me from doing stupid things. I know I have the lads now but I will still miss you. Thank you for making me go to the X-factor three years ago. Thank you for being not only my best friend but also my brother." He ended and I squeezed his hand a little spending him comfort, being close to tears myself. "By the way, you were right! (Y/N), is the best thing that ever happened to me!" I looked up to him in surprise. A tear was rolling down his cheek and I moved on my tiptoes to give him a short kiss. "I love you!"
