I jumped out of the car happily, stretching myself, finally standing on my feet again. I let out a groan I moved my prickling limbs to get the blood flowing properly again. “Arrrgh, I hate long car rides!” I complained and was met with a chuckle. “Okay, if you want to you can walk home, when we leave here.” My boyfriend of one year stated. I just stuck my tongue at him, then looked up to take in the beautiful surroundings. We were in the woods, far away from civilisation, but that’s why he chose this place. The ground was covered in snow and the trees were bald beside the conifers. In front of us stood a cute little rustic hut, like you would know only from films. A pair of arms slung around my waist from behind and Niall rested his head on my shoulder. “You like it?” He questioned and I just nodded, overwhelmed with the beautiful setting. “I love it!” I breathed. He placed a small kiss on my cheek, then he let go of me and gestured me to go on in, handing me the keys. I smiled at him brightly and followed his demands, while he got our suitcases out of the car, carrying the bags behind me. Shaking with anticipation I unlocked the door and went on in. It was beautiful, nearly everything was made out of wood and fitted perfectly. I slipped off my snowshoes and felt the warm wooden floor under my feet. It was amazing. I took in the furniture and the whole setting, being completely stunned. “Ni, it’s perfect.” I hushed. When I turned around to him he leaned in the hall and was watching me with his signature big grin spread on his features. “I’m glad you do!”

While I unpacked our suitcases in the big bedroom, Niall fetched some firewood from outside to get the chimney going. I changed in some leggings and a big sweater, as the house seemed a little cool without the fire, then I went downstairs to my boyfriend. He was sitting on some fur before the fireplace and shoot me a proud grin, when he saw me coming in. I kept in a laugh, he was always so cute, like a little boy. “Do you like your surprise?” He asked and I returned his smile. “No.” I answered and his face fell instantly. “I love it.” I stated as I sunk down beside him and placed a soft, fleeting kiss on his lips. We watched the fire for a while, me leaning against him, silence lingering around us. It was a comfortable kind of silence, no awkward one, but instead the kind you share with someone, when words are not necessary. “Thank’s for getting us away from all the trouble and giving us some time for ourselves.” I whispered after some time. “No problem, I love to spend time just with you and we haven’t been able to do this lately.” He smiled at me with his crooked smile and I had to giggle. “You’re so cute.” He huffed as if I had insulted him. “Am not.” He stated, which only made me giggle even more. “Yes, you are.” He pouted his lip and turned his face away from me in fake annoyance. “No I’m sexy.” Now I laughed even more. “Nope, just cute.” I countered, not able to contain my laughter. “Admit it, I’m sexy.” He said, turning to me and looking into my eyes challengingly. “Nope.” I said, popping the p.

Suddenly I was lying on my back and he was hovering over me. “Admit I am.” He demanded but I just shook my head, still not taking him serious. “Okay, you didn’t want it any other way.” The next seconds his hand were all over me, finding all my ticklish spots, knowing them by heart. I was a laughing wreathing mess in a matter of seconds since I was overly ticklish. “You admit?” He asked, giving me a short break from laughing to catch my breath. I shook my head while refilling my lungs with air. He instantly started tickling me again, making me scream and squeak, while laughing and gasping for air. “Okay, okay.” I shouted. “I admit it, you’re sexy.” But he kept tickling me. “Not good enough.” He grinned and I coiled under his hands. “Arrrgh, okay, you’re the sexiest man on the planet, Niall Horan!” His hands left my sides immediately, instead wandering up beside my head each and propping him up above me. “Nah.” He said in fake modesty, while a cocky grin appeared on his features. “You’re an idiot.” I whispered, not able to hide the smile creeping onto my face. “Might be, but you love it.” He stated while leaning his head in closer, so our lips were only inches apart. “Not sure about that.” The corners of my mouth turning up into a smile, as I teased him some more. “Then I think I have to persuade you.” With that his lips crashed onto mine and he involved me in a passionate, yet slow kiss. When his lips finally parted from mine I was breathless. “Maybe you’re right.” He flashed me his crooked grin again. “See? I’m a very convincing person.”

The next day I wake up to the most delicious smell ever. I quickly throw Niall’s big sweater over yself, since it’s still a little freezing in the halls and slip some knee socks on. Still a little sleepy I stumble down the stairs and into the little kitchen that’s connected to the living room. I step behind Niall and loop my arms around his waist, stepping on my tip toes to place a small kiss on his cheek. “Good morning. Mhhhm, that smells awesome.” He chuckles a little. “I hope it tastes equally.” He answers, then turns around in my arms and wraps his arms around me too. “Good morning.” He says, placing a soft kiss on my lips, which instantly curl up into a smile. After we’ve eaten the breakfast he made us we decide to take a stroll to get to know the beautiful land that was surrounding us. I slipped on some thick tights and a wool skirt with some long sleeved tee and a thick overall, to keep myself from the cold outside, not being used to such a cool weather. Niall didn’t mind it as much as me he just slipped on one of his jeans, a tee and a jumper. When we were ready we slipped into some winter jackets and snow boots, then left the small hut. Outside the snow had started falling again and I instantly turned around to fetch us some beanies and gloves. Finally ready to go we started our stroll. We walked through the woods till they vanished and we came to a wide spread level country. It was such a beautiful sight and we just walked in silence taking in every moment, that we spent together, his hand holding mine tightly.

“It’s so lovely here.” I stated, breaking the silence. “I’m glad you like it, because I surely do.” He made a short pause. “I missed spending time with you, just us two.” His words got me because I did too. Niall has been away, nearly all year long and since I was at college we barely saw each other since either his or my schedule didn’t allow us to do so. I looked at him from the corner of my eye, a smile on my face. “Yeah, but it’s worth it.” I stated and made him smile instantly. “Yes, it surely is.” It got silent again, as we kept walking back, since the sun was standing low on the sky, signalling the end of the day. “I’m sorry, about the hate you receive and that I’m not always there for you, when you need me to.” He suddenly blurted out. I didn’t expect his words so I was a little taken aback. Despite that a small smile formed on my lips and I gave him a small kiss on the cheek. “That’s okay, Ni. I knew what to expect when I’d be your girlfriend and like I said: It’s worth it. Also I know that when I need you you’ll always be there and come running to me, even though you’re miles away. Like the time when my father had the accident.” I made him stop and look into my eyes, placing a short kiss on his lips. “I choose you Niall and I know that you’re always there for me, when I really need you, so there is nothing I would regret in this relationship.” Suddenly his lips were on mine and he gave me another passionate kiss, laying all his affection in it. After some time we broke the kiss and leaned our foreheads against each other, as we caught our breath. “Good, because I don’t regret a thing either, as long as I have you.”

When we get home we quickly slip out of our cold clothes. I was shaking a little bit from the cold and the blonde looked at me with worried eyes. "You should take a hit shower, to warm yourself." He said while rubbing my arms up and down. "I'm gonna make us some hot chocolate and grab some blankets." I nodded my head yes and immediately followed his words. When I stepped out of the shower I dried myself off, then walked into our bedroom to get some warm clothes. I found that Niall had already picked something for me to wear and laid it on the bed. I smiled because he was being so cute, while slipping on my thick leggings and the oversized hoodie of his. When I was finished I went down. Niall already sat on the couch in front of the chimney and as soon as he saw me he stood up. He cautiously wrapped me in a warm blanket then sat me on the couch, placing a small kiss on my forehead. "So since it's the evening before Christmas you may open one present." He noted, then handed me a small box. I smiled at him and gave him a fleeting kiss, before leaning back and tearing the paper open. I opened the box and stared in awe. In it was the most beautiful necklace I've had ever seen. It was a little heart with our lucky number, which was the day that we met, engraved. "Merry Christmas, love." He beamed at me and I kissed him. "Merry Christmas."
