I was smiling at my TV screen watching the guys rise another show while another artist had to go home. Just as the show ended and I changed the TV to a music channel my phone rang. I smiled as I saw the caller ID and instantly picked it up. "(Y/N)! We made it!! It's nearly the final, we are sooo close!" An excited voice cheered into the phone. I chuckled a little "Yeah I know Li, I've watched it, like every Saturday." Now he was the one to chuckle lightly. "I just wanted to tell you personally, also I miss my best friend over here!" I let out a deep breathe as a smile formed on my lips. "I miss you too, Li" I whispered in the phone, knowing that his words didn't mean the same thing as mine. I knew this fact for sure, for some time now, since he fell for a dancer at the X-factor as he told me the other day. Since then she's all he's talking about when we have a phonecall. I didn't notice my feelings for Liam before, since I thought it was just friendship. But when he told me about a beautiful woman he met on set and is trying to get to date him, I knew instantly. The feelings I felt for him weren't just friendship and I also knew that he was definitely not interested. Still I decided not to throw away our friendship and keep it to myself, thinking I would get over this crush as the time passes.

It's been three years since then and somehow Liam and I were able to keep our friendship despite his fame. We don't see each other that often even though it got better when I moved to London to study Literature and English. Now I at least saw him the few times when he was on a break. Exactly this would be the case in a week and we already planned to have dinner together, which as always would end in staying up late and watching tv at one of our places. I was really looking forward to it since I haven't seen him in a long time and the last few weeks were very exhausting. So I just longed for chilling with Liam while watching our favorite movies. Smiling happily on the thought of it I flipped through the diffrent tv channels and stopped for a few seconds on a channel when I saw that they were talking about the lads. "So popstar Liam Payne was spotted with a girl by his side lately! It's rumoured that she's his new girlfriend." With an amused smile I shook my head and changed the channel. Media always made up such weird stories when they didn't even know anything. Liam is still single, he would have told me if he had a new girlfriend. I'm always first to know when there are news about his life, especially his love life.

Excitedly I sat at the desk in our favourite pizzeria "Francesco's Pizza" patiently waiting for my best friend to arrive for a fun traditional reunion day. I already ordered for the two of us since we always ate the same thing when we went here. Suddenly I saw a familiar face walking into the restaurant. A smile spread on my lips as I stood up. "Sophia?" The girl turned around and smiled at me then walked over to me. "Oh my God, what are you doing here?" I asked her happily since I haven't seen her since sixth Form. Just as she opened her mouth someone stepped behind her and losely put his arm around her waist. I let my eyes wander to the guy and instantly had to smile. My smile faltered a little as my brain processed what his arm around her waist meant. "Hey (Y/N), you remember Sophia? Well she's my girlfriend now." He said scratching his neck, making no moves to give me our usual hug. Instead he pulled her chair back and helped her sit down. Ouch, that hurt. I quickly faked a smile and sat down myself. "I already ordered for the two of us." I informed Liam.

An agonizing dinner later my face already felt like cramping from all the fake smiling I did. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Sophia, always have but I didn't expect it. Also I hoped to finally get my chance to make a move on Liam myself as soon as he's back from tour. Since first there was the breakup with Danielle and then he was busy all the time. That we're the reasons why I waited till he would be back from tour. "So where do we go for our DVD session?" Liam asked smiling widely as we stepped out of the restaurant. "A-actually I already have plans for the evening so I'm gonna pass the usual movie night this time, sorry." I quickly made up a lame excuse so I wouldn't risk having to watch a make out session if the movies were too boring. Liam looked at me with observing eyes and a surprised expression. Before he could see through my lie I continued to say goodbye. "I have to go now or I'll be late. It was nice seeing you again Sophia! Bye Liam." I gave them an awkward little wave before rushing off to the station to get on the train as quickly as i could. I slumped down in a seat and let all my thoughts run free as disappointment settled inside me. I was so dumb. When I arrived at home I immediately called my best friend (Y/bf/N) to tell her about the dinner. After a long phone call I finally hung up and decided to get ready for bed.
