Chapter 10

~Your POV~

You woke up around 12:30 and got up to make coffee. You decided to make chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and started to prepare the batter.

When the pancakes were done and you were eating, your phone chimed signaling a text. You checked it and saw it was from Brendon.

Brendon: Hey Y/N! I just wanted to ask you, are you doing anything today?
You: Umm you mean besides sit and binge watch Netflix shows and look at memes? No I'm not busy.
Brendon: Great! I was wondering, do you maybe want to go get coffee today?
You: Yeah that sounds amazing! What time?
Brendon: I was thinking around 1:30? We could go to the small coffee shop on the corner of 4th and Fremont. (A/N: I'm sorry. I'm trash.)
You: Sounds good. I'll see you in a bit!

Since it was 12:45, you decided to go get ready. You would text Y/B/F/N after, knowing she would make a big deal out of it.

You put on a simple black dress shirt and dark jeans. You paired the outfit with a pair of black flats and decided you looked decent. Next you moved on to makeup. You did a natural look and decided to keep your hair down.

Happy with how you looked, you decided to call Y/B/F/N rather than text her. After about two rings, she picked up. "DID HE TEXT?!" was the first thing she said. "Well hello to you too." "Oh sorry. Hi. Now DID HE TEXT YOU OR NOT?!" "He may have.." "WHAT DID HE SAY?" "He just asked if I was busy today and I said no. So then he asked me to go get coffee with him. I'm meeting him at 1:30 at the coffee shop on the corner by 4th and Fremont." "AH OMG YOU GUYS ARE ALREADY GOING ON A DATE!" "It isn't a date. He never said anything about it being a date. It's probably just so we can get to know each other better as friends." You made sure to stress the word 'friends'. "Yeah, yeah, friends. Some relationships start off as friendships and then the two people realize they have feelings for each other and start dating.." "Ugh whatever. We'll see how today goes. Now if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere to be." "Bye."

You hang up and leave your house to start the walk to the coffee shop. It wasn't that far from your house so why waste the gas in your car if you could walk? It was 1:20 and it takes about 5 minutes to get there so you didn't have to worry about being late.

You got to the coffee shop at around 1:26 and decided to order your coffee so Brendon wouldn't offer to pay. As you were about to hand over you money, someone else had already given the cashier $10. You look up to see Brendon. "Did you think you could get away with paying for your coffee?" "Maybe.." He laughed "I invited you to come here so it's only right if I pay." "But what if I didn't want you to pay?" "Well it's too late to go back now so I guess you're just going to have to deal with it." You laughed and then Brendon ordered his coffee. When you had both received your drinks, you made your way to a table in the back.

Brendon was wearing a white button down, black jeans, and all black high top converse. His arm was obviously still in a sling but he still looked nice. "How's your arm today?" You ask. "It's better. It still hurts a bit but not as bad as yesterday. You nodded. "That's good." You took a sip of your coffee. "So I figured we could get to know each other here." He says. "Yeah I think that would be nice. Although there isn't much to learn about me. I'm pretty boring." You respond. "I think that's a lie. I think you're interesting and I want to know more about you." "Alright then what do you want to know?"

"Do you play any instruments?" "Yeah actually. I play electric guitar, flute, clarinet, violin, trumpet, piano, and I sing." (A/N: fun fact I actually do play all these. Ok sorry I'll leave.) "Wow. That's impressive. I sing, and I can play piano, drums, and guitar." "That's cool! We'll have to have a jam session sometime." "Yes definitely!" You both drink your coffee and talk more. A couple times you both just gazed into each others eyes. You were usually the one to look away and bring up another topic. After a while, you had found out a lot about him as he did about you.

You didn't realize how much time had passed until Y/B/F/N had texted you asking how the 'date' went. "Oh my gosh it's already 3:00!" "Is it really? Wow. I guess time flies when your having fun." Brendon replies. "Yeah." You both get up and walk out of the coffee shop. "Well I had a really great time. It was a whole lot better than just staying at my house." You say smiling. Brendon smiled as well "Yeah I had a nice time too. We should do this again sometime." "Definitely. Well I'll see you later Brendon." "Bye Y/N".

With that, you both turned your separate ways and started to walk to your houses. While you were walking you couldn't help but think "I think I'm starting to fall for him.."
