Chapter 38

"You don't really think that someone was trying to drive you apart do you..? I mean, you guys are basically loved by everyone!" Marie said. "Well, I can think of a few people who would want to see us crash and burn." You reply. A few minutes later, you hear the door unlocking. "Well here comes the moment we've all been waiting for." You say as Brendon appears in the doorway. He immediately comes to you and hugs you. He then sits down by you and waits for the other guys to finish coming in and they go by their girlfriends/wives.

"So.. what happened?" Y/B/F/N asks. Brendon took a deep breath "Y/N, do you remember that crazy fan we ran into a while back? The one that caused us a lot of problems?" "Yeah.." "Well, it turns out she works at the club we went to. When she saw me, she came up to me, and she was already being really touchy. She asked if I was single now and Dallon said we were there for my bachelor party. Well then she moved onto Dallon and started to be really forward with him. He told her kindly that he was seeing Y/B/F/N but she still didn't listen. Well then then Joe and Pete stepped in and we walked away from her. Then as if things couldn't get any worse, Derek shows up."

You groan at the mention of Derek's name "Why does he always have to try and be a douche? Why can't he leave us alone and go back to living his sad excuse for a life?" "I don't know, but once we get married, we can move anywhere you want to, and we'll never have to see him again." You smiled at this and then Brendon continued. "Well I had already told the guys about Derek, so they kind of knew who he was. Well, in his usual douchebag manner, he had to make some type of insult to you as his greeting. It was already taking me a lot to not just fight him right then and there, but if he was going to say one more thing about you, I was gonna explode. Pete told him to get lost, but of course he didn't leave. 'Why can't you realize you're making like the biggest mistake in your life marrying her? She's a nobody. Shouldn't a famous hockey player like you have some whore on his arm rather than a piece of shit?' I was seriously getting close to beating the shit put him, but Joe stopped me. Then that fan came over and stood next to Derek. I guess they were hooking up or something because she definitely knew him. Now they threw around some more insults, towards Dallon, Pete, and Joe too even though they don't know them. This was when we decided to leave. We weren't going to deal with being harassed by them the rest of the night. So right after that was when I decided to call you."

You sat in silence for a moment. A tear slowly rolled down your cheek and Brendon wiped it away. No matter what, Derek's words still got to you and made you think that maybe Brendon could do better. You knew that's what Derek wanted you to feel. He wanted to get in your head. "I'm glad you told me. And thank you guys for being there for Brendon." You said to the guys. "It's no problem, we wouldn't let anything happen to him." Joe said. "I'm sorry your party turn out kind of bad towards the end.." you say to Brendon. "Don't worry about it baby, I'd rather end the night here with you." He says kissing your cheek. You smile and rest your head on his shoulder. Your friends stayed over a bit longer and you all just talked. Around 12:30, they decided they all should head home since it was getting late and so you and Brendon could have some time together. You all said your goodbyes and then you and Brendon walked up to your room.

You both changed into comfy clothes and got under the covers to watch a movie. Brendon wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer to him. He left a few kisses on your shoulder, neck, and cheek. You smiled and turned to kiss his cheek. "What movie do you want to watch love?" He asks. "I don't care, you can pick. I always pick." "Alright, how about we just watch some episodes Lucifer. That way we can just turn the tv off when we're both ready to go to bed and we don't have to leave off in the middle of the movie." You nod and chooses the current episode you're on. He didn't mind that you had watched episodes without him, he said he'd just go watch them later.

After the second episode, your eyelids started to get heavy. The mixture of Brendon's warm arms around you making you feel safe, the small kisses he'd place to your head every now and then, and the exhaustion you felt from the day made you fall asleep quickly.

In the morning, you woke up to Brendon making breakfast. He greeted you with a kiss and you checked your phone. You had a few messages from the girls but that was about it. You decided to text the group to tell them the plans for the bachelorette party. You wanted to take clubbing off the list, not wanting to run into the same problem Brendon had.

You: Hey, how about for the party, we go get dinner, go to a spa, and then maybe go to the cinema?
Y/B/F/N: sounds good! How about the Elton John movie Rocket Man?
Marie: I kinda wanted to see that
Meagan: Me too
You: then it's settled! We can decide on a restaurant later.

You told Brendon the plans and he said it sounded like it would be nice. Then you sat down and ate breakfast together.
