DISORIENTED na pumasok si Isaac sa conference room kinaumagahan. He forgot he had a marketing strategy meeting with the said department the next day. Napasarap ang tulog niya kagabi. "G-Good morning." Nagsibatian rin ang mga naroon. Umupo siya sa kabisera. "I... got stuck in a traffic." Tapos nilingon ang presentation sa whiteboard. "Proceed."
Vladimir drags his chair towards Isaac and simply whispers. "Traffic? Really? You got more better excuse than that?"
"I really did get stuck in a traffic." Giit niya sa kakilalang VP ng Marketing. Nasa presentation ang attention niya.
"But you left with Zoey last night."
"Hinatid ko siya sa hotel niya. That's just it." He un-buttons his coat and returns his focus on the board.
"What?!" Bahagyang napalakas ni Vlad ang boses kaya may iilang staff ang napalingon sa kanila. Tumikhim ito at lumapit pa kay Isaac. "Hinatid mo lang?"
"Yeah?" He shrugs.
"Isaac... Do you know your fiancee is every man's dream?"
"Don't count me in." Kumuha siya ng papel at lapis sa mesa. "Plus stop saying fiancee, okay? My father is dead, so it makes that stupid agreement of theirs void and nuisance. Kung gusto mo kayo nalang."
"Bakla ka ba?"
Inis niya itong nilingon. "You'd retort to that?"
"'Di naman siya mahirap magustuhan, ah ---"
Napalingon sila sa pinto kung saan pumasok ang pinag-uusapan nilang babae. Zoey, in her cream business suit, look elegant as always.
"Whew..." Pasipol na umayos ng upo si Vladmir.
Zoey sat on the chair on Isaac's right side and crossed her long legs. "I apologize I'm late." Lumingon ito kay Isaac. "I get stuck in a traffic."
Tusong ngumiti si Vladmir kay Isaac na halatang nainis. "That is 'some' traffic, Isaac."
"So..." Rinig nilang sabi ng nagpe-present na staff. "We need a new model for our lingerie line. Our female top model, Ms. Helga, is unavailable for the next 5 weeks due to her tight schedule for Milan and Paris fashion shows. May mga nakalinya ring projects ang ibang female models natin."
Zoey looked at the printed report on the table. "How would you do it? The process of finding a new model?"
"We have a list of those walk-ins who had potential. May mga nahanap din ang mga marketing personnel ko sa Instagram." Singit ni Vladmir. "We just don't hire models because we simply need one. We want someone na tatatak sa masa. Like when we introduce Liam... just in a week he became a household name."
"You're saying?" Bored na tanong ni Isaac.
"We need a face that will be loved by all age bracket. Mapa-bata o matanda." Sagot ni Vladimir.
