"Nicolo."
Napaangat ng tingin si Nicolo mula sa pag-pupunas ng basa niyang buhok. He decided to have a swim at Hsiao's pool that morning. "Oh, Z."
Lumapit ang bagong gising na si Zoey na yakap-yakap ang sariling naka-night gown pa. Mula sa terrace ng kwarto niya, kitang-kita ang pool kung saan bagong ahon ang pinsan niya. She never got the chance to talk to him last night after his arrival kasi agad itong tinawag ng ama niya sa study room. "Too early for a swim."
He grins and pluck a cherry from the fruit basket at the steel table near the poolside. "Para hindi na ako hahanap pa ng gym."
Umupo siya sa beachbed.
Habang ngumunguya, Nicolo pointed at her casted leg. "How's your therapy going?"
Kiming ngumiti si Zoey. "Last therapy ko sa Friday."
"May clearance na bang makakapagmaneho ka na pagkatapos?" Umupo si Nico sa katabing beachbed.
"Dad confiscated my car keys." Tumingin sa malayo si Zoey. "Nico..."
"Hmm?" He plucks another cherry and pops it on his mouth.
"What are you doing here?" Seryoso siyang lumingon sa pinsan.
He grins. "Why? Ayaw mo na andito ako? Awwe, you're hurting my feelings—"
"Nico..." kadikit no'n ay lihim na senyales na 'di iyon ang ibig niyang sabihin.
"I'm here for the Talent Camp if that's what you want to know."
"Did Papa ask you to come?"
Hindi ito sumagot at tumingin lang sa kulay-asul na tubig sa pool.
"You're already a seasoned model, Nico. Why came for the talent camp when there are a lot of amateur models in Prima Nova – US that could use this camp more than you."
Tumayo si Nico at ginulo ang buhok niya. "You're overthinking, Z." Hinila nito ang bathrobe sa sandalan ng beachbed.
He was about to leave when Zoey mumbles. "I love Isaac, Nicolo."
Nilingon ni Nicolo ang pinsan.
Zoey looks at him with worry in her eyes. "If you'll hurt him, you're hurting me too."
Dumaan muna ang ilang sandali bago sumagot ang lalake. "When did you become so soft, Z?" Tumalikod na ito at pumasok sa mansion.
