Amelia's POV
Luke will be here in twenty minutes to take me to the concert. We hung out once since Monday just walking around town. I'm completely ready aside from the fact that I'm still in my pajamas. My hair has a natural-looking wave to it and my makeup is light. I have three options laid out on my bed: 5sos shirt, band tee, or just a nice top.
Luke: "do u have any stain remover stuff at your house? i just spilled."
I rolled my eyes slightly just imagining what he was going through. I didn't reply, but I did grab my Tide pen. I decided to go with the ADTR shirt so I didn't seem overly anxious to meet the band. Luke actually introduced me to A Day to Remember back at camp when Jess had asked him to sing us a song, and he serenaded us with If It Means A Lot To You before he went up to audition for the talent show.
I said my goodbyes to my parents after informing them that I would be home late. I got in the passenger seat of Luke's still-running car.
"Here." I handed him the stain-removing pen and smiled slightly.
He took the pen and feriously drew over what looked to be a coffee spill. I had to keep myself from laughing at his misfortune.
Once he had finished, he looked at me and smiled.
"What?" I asked nervously as I tried to remove myself from his gaze.
"Nice shirt." He smirked, and I rolled my eyes at his cockiness.
"Yeah, you too." I bit back, and he laughed.
"Not funny." He reminded me before pulling out of my driveway. "Okay, so I know I had told you after 2:30 last week, but I decided it would be okay to go earlier so you could meet everybody beforehand instead of after soundcheck. And so we could get lunch."
I'm not sure why, but I felt my face warm to his words. "Thanks."
My voice must have sounded small because Luke looked at me with concern. "Are you okay?" His eyebrows furrowed as he looked back and forth between me and the road.
"Yeah, I'm fine-- excited." I explained. Yeah, fine except for the fact that my whole body felt like it was vibrating, and I'm in a car with Luke Hemmings-- about to spend the rest of the day with him.
"Me too." He beamed. "It might get pretty boring until the concert starts, though."
"I don't mind. I'm sure it won't be boring to me." I reassured him.
He gave me a lippy smile before handing me his phone. "Pick something to listen to."
"O-Okay." I scrolled through his beautiful music library.
Just as I was about to choose something, he took the phone out of my hand. "Actually, wait-- no."
I stayed quiet as I tried to figure out what he was doing. I caught on as soon as the first chords of If It Means A Lot To You started streaming through the car speakers.
He looked over at me with a nostalgic expression and a sultry grin. I looked away as my face heated up. As the lyrics started, Luke joined in almost inaudibly. I found myself mindlessly singing along as I looked everywhere but at Luke. Soon enough, Luke had stopped singing, but I hadn't realized it until my voice rang louder than the music.
He had turned it down. "Why?" I knew my face was pink.
"I wanted to hear you sing."
"No, but I'm here to hear you sing." I reminded him, and he just chuckled.
"Fine." Luke smirked yet again and played another ADTR song. He sang loudly, and I was in awe of his voice. I sat in my seat staring with my mouth slightly agape.
