Amelia's POV

I've been sick on the couch for two days now, and Luke and I have barely had a conversation because I was constantly sleeping. I'm feeling much better today, though.

"Mom, do you think we could have Luke over tonight?" I sat at the kitchen table, staring at my water, anxiously waiting for her answer.

"Are you sure you don't need another day to rest?" She looked at me through worried eyes.

I nodded quickly.

My mom sighed. "I suppose. Dinner?"

"Please. I'll help." I grew giddy and nervous.

"We don't need anymore of your germs, but thanks for the offer." My mom joked, and I went to call Luke.

"Hey!" I spoke excitedly, happy to be hearing his voice again.

"Hey, are you feeling better?" I've gotten nearly twenty texts from him strictly concerning the matter that I get well.

"Much." I smiled though he couldn't see me. "What would you say to coming over tonight for dinner?" I slightly chewed on my lip.

"Uh, yeah. I've been wanting to talk with you too. What time should I come over?" His voice sounded uneasy, and it concerned me, but I disregarded it for the time being.

"Probably like 5:45. I just want to see you. I feel like one of those annoying, clingy girlfriends, but I've missed you." I laughed lightly.

"Yeah, pretty sure I'm the annoying, clingy girlfriend." He laughed with me.

"You most definitely are." My smile was large as ever as I've missed joking with him.

"I'll see you tonight, okay?" I could hear him smiling, but I also know that he's nervous.

"Okay. I love you, Lukey." I sang.

"I love you too, Amewia." He sang back.

I hung up and fell back asleep almost immediately.

I awoke with a jolt. "Amelia, wake up. Luke is going to be here very soon."

"Crap." I muttered. I rolled off my bed and quickly went to the bathroom. My hair is a mess.

I threw it up into a quick pony and brushed my teeth.

"Don't dress up; I'm wearing pajamas." I texted Luke, hoping to catch him in time.

I stayed in my floral patterned shorts and my sweatshirt, but I fixed my face so it looks like I tried a little bit.

I ran downstairs to help my mom with the final preparations.

"Are you seriously wearing that?" She glanced at me, looking annoyed.

"What?" I acted oblivious.

"You couldn't have just changed really quickly?" Her eyes were wide, and she was hurrying around the kitchen with an overly done aura.

"Fine, I'll go change right now." My dog started to bark.

"It's too late; he's here." She sighed hard and walked back over by the food.

"Zaaaac!" I yelled up the stairs. "It's time to eat!"

Zac came down, upset that the food wasn't actually ready to be consumed right away.

I heard a knock on the door and answered it. Luke appeared with a bouquet of flowers. He wore his classic black skinny jeans and a black tshirt. I smiled widely at him.
