Deep waters had always been the one thing in my fear list. I never had the courage to swim or even go for boating. But one day when I said I was getting bored sitting at home , Jin decided to take me to the Suseong lake, very deliberately quoting the lines from the travel website that he had read, saying, "A day at a lake restores the soul."I wasn't interested to go out because first thing, I do not like boats and second, I would have wanted to stay inside even though I would have been bored. Jin told me that it would be a good way to maybe make new friends or meet new people. I liked the idea of meeting, because honestly I was tired of just seeing Jin all around the house. Sure he is a great person to hang out with, but the problem was that I barely went out of the house. I wasn't allowed to work so you can probably imagine how it would feel to just stop socializing with the outside world. Getting Su-won in the house was amazing, but having a friend would have been great. And so I decided to go with Jin.
I knew he would force me to try to sit in the boat and so I wore some old casual comfy clothes. Nothing fancy. And tied my hair in a ponytail.
"Are you really going out wearing such simple clothes?"
"Eomma , I wanted to be comfortable."
"You could have worn something else. You have so many good dresses."
"Imo, it's okay. She looks cute as always."
He always had the most random timing of making a comment. I thanked him and we went out the door. I felt a bit weird but I didn't tell him. I didn't want to ruin the moment.
The weather was pleasant and the lake offered different colors. It was a beautiful view. There was a mini amusement park for kids and I didn't know that I was being accompanied with a kid. Jin is a real man-baby and the amount of excitement and enthusiasm in his eyes was something new. I always found him in his room with the files and papers, working, but his bubbly personality came out as a surprise for me as well.
After losing at almost all the games, Jin was convinced that it was time to try the highlight of the purpose of visiting the lake - the boat. It was a cute small boat for 3-4 people to sit comfortably but it was duck shaped and Jin literally struggled to paddle due to his tall frame. It was easy for me because I was short as compared to him. It was a good exercise though.
It was already time for lunch. And I didn't know either that Jin was a massive eater. We went to one of the fancy cafe which were along the lake. It was already getting dark and I was tired.
"Let's go back home after the fountain show."
"But I'm tired!"
"We spent the entire day here. Why miss the beautiful show?"
"But I want to go home."
"Please~~"
I could see he was excited for it so I just nodded. He flashed his big smile and went to the washroom.
I was sitting there for a while watching the other people when I saw a guy looking at me. He had been looking at me for a long while but I didn't care to respond because obviously I had no idea who he was. He was confident enough to get up from his seat and approached me. He greeted me formally, as if we knew each.
"Do you remember me?"
"I'm sorry, but I don't recall."
"I'm Jeon Jungkook. I'm Jisu's cousin."
Jisu was my co-worker at the company in Seoul. She still contacts me but meeting her brother here was least expected.
"Hello, nice to meet you."
"You forgot about me? We used to work together. And I've met you before. Maybe one or two times."
"I'm sorry. I'm currently recovering from an accident. So I don't remember most of the stuff."
"So is it why you came here?"
"Yes. Why do you look so unconvinced?"
"No, it's nothing. I mean, after you left, it was told to us that you changed cities because you got another job here. We weren't informed about your accident."
"Oh. I didn't know about it."
"So, did you find any job."
"No, as for now, I'm not working. But let's see how it goes."
"Well if you need any help, my uncle's company has a few vacant places. They're searching for experienced workers. You can give it a try maybe."
"Well thanks for informing me. Can you please give me your number so that we could talk later about it?"
"Yeah sure. "
After giving him my phone my, I saw Jin at the counter paying for our food. And when he turned, he didn't look pleased. As if he was angry and upset for some reason.
"Miso-ah! We should leave now!"
"Yeah wait a second."
"I'll be outside."
And he just left.
After Jungkook left, I met up with Jin again but he didn't give me attention. Drama king!
We were walking down the path to go see the fountain show but he kept ignoring me and kind of gave me an icy look.
"Yah! Are you going to ignore me the entire time?"
"Yes."
"Come on Jin! What happened?"
"Who was that guy?"
Him and his male ego.
"He was my friend's cousin. We used to work in the same company."
"Oh"
"Oh? Is this how you're going to reply?" At this point I was a bit irritated.
"Yes."
"Fine. I'm going home."
I didn't wait for his answer and just turned towards the other way.
"Okay. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have talked like that." He suddenly said while grabbing my arm.
"It's okay Jin." I sighed.
"But please stop behaving rudely.""I promise."
Things were pretty silent after that. He didn't say much. I don't know what suddenly happened to him. But when the show started he started getting excited like a baby. Dancing water with laser lights and music made the environment of the lake more romantic. Jin was busy clicking the pictures, while I just wanted to enjoy the time.
We were sitting on a bench by the lake. It was a cozy corner which gave a better view of the show. It was beautiful. And I felt as if I had experienced this view before. Not exactly this but a similar one. And I suddenly felt a sense of pure bliss and happiness.~**~
