"Motive? A motive to make us kill each other?" I asked.
"Looks like someones on the ball!" Monokuma lifted up the envelopes, "I noticed that you've all lost your will to escape, because you're all too scared for another class trial. So I decided to prepare a motive! One that will motivate you to kill!"
"So like what? You going to make us kill each other over a box of chocolate?" Dane asked sarcastically.
"Not over something petty like that. See for yourselves," Monokuma threw the envelopes on the gym floor.
Each envelope had one of our names written on it. I grabbed the one with my name and opened it. Inside was a strip of paper that read, 'Tyler was a bed-wetter until 5th grade."
Is this supposed to make us kill each other? And wait, how did Monokuma find this out!?
By this time, everyone had read their letters.
"H-how did you find out?!"
"Th-this is-."
"I-I-I can explain!"
Everyone was panicking. It seemed everyone's letter contained a shameful secret. Some were clearly more deep than others since some people were acting... strangely.
"EVERYONE STAY THE FUCK BACK! THE FUCK BACK!" Sadie yelled.
"DON'T YOU EVER TELL ANYONE!" Dane shrieked.
"DON'T COME ANY CLOSER PEOPLE!" Winston screamed.
"Upupupupu..." Monokuma's voice trailed off into the air, attracting all of our attention to him, "I bet you're all wondering how I got these, but that's not the point. The point is, that this is your motive!"
"No one will kill over these dumb secrets!" Lois yelled.
"Yes, but some people will! Anyway, everyday day that there is not a murder, I will read out a random secret to everyone using the monitors!"
"This is messed up." Winston said.
"I know! I can't wait to see how this recent development will pan out!" Monokuma dropped through the gym stage and out of our sights.
"So, what do we do now?" Lois asked.
Everyone was clutching their letters, eyeing everyone else.
Would someone kill over these secrets?
"I think there's only one reasonable action," Amelia announced, "we share our secrets!"
"NO FUCKING WAY!" Sadie replied, "the day I tell someone this is the day I die!"
"I also object to doing that," Julius said, "I just... can't tell you what I just read."
"But if we do share our secrets, we won't have any motives." Amelia explained, "we shouldn't do what Monokuma wants!"
"She has a point," Ultra Justice added.
"A life is much more important than a secret," Celia continued, "so this should be a no brainer."
"You're only saying that because your secret isn't that bad!" Winston replied angrily.
"Oh please, what could you possibly want to keep a secret?" Rita asked.
"It's clear that we won't reach a solution the way we're going, so why don't we hold a vote?" Tobias suggested.
