section 9 - we are bulletproof

Before Red Velvet's comeback show that evening, Jimin stood in the back with Seulgi, face mask still on out of nervousness that someone might come back who was not supposed to and see him there.

He kind of floated around and followed her where she went, stood by her while she got her hair and makeup done, and then finally sat beside her when the show was about to start. They made small talk, Seulgi being the one mostly talking, both of them nervous for some different reasons. Her because they hadn't performed in so long.

"Jiminie, why don't you pull your mask down? I want to see your whole face," she said, smiling.

He nodded. "Just to give you a good luck kiss before the show, though."

They got the signals that they were ready for them to go on stage, and they kissed each other lightly before she started to walk away.

"Seulgi?" Jimin said, and she stopped in her tracks and turned towards him again. "Aren't your shorts a bit short?"

"Oh, they're fine, Chim Chim. It's okay. I've worn these before and they've been fine; haven't really ridden up or anything. No wardrobe malfunctions yet." They called her out, and she waved to him goodbye and blew a kiss.

"That's not what I meant, though," he said softly, his voice trailing off as she walked farther away and then disappeared around the corner from his sight. Her shorts were so short, it was unbelievable and painful for him. He could see the start of the curve from her thigh going up to her butt in those shorts, and to think that she was going in front of a couple thousand people with them on that short made him feel slightly sick.

He would just have to deal with it, he guessed.

That night, Jimin laid in bed texting Seulgi. It was late, and most of his hyungs were already asleep from a tough and tiring rehearsal day.

"You were so good today. You always are," he sent her. "😚"

"UWU thank you Jiminie!"

"I love you"

"No jagiya I love YOU more"

"Yes I do"

"Yes"

"Lol stop it oppa! 🤭"

Jimin smiled wide, then turning off his phone and setting it on his nightstand. He turned over and wrapped up in his sheets, pulling them up to his chin and sighing, closing his eyes.

He could rest assured that the best girl omg he works was his.

He fell asleep right away then, too, comforted by the thought and the fact.
