I got inspo when looking through tumblr at edited photos of Michael and babies (he'd be a great dad)
Being a parent is tough.Within just the first four months of yours and Michaels daughter, Ella, being around, you have had little to no sleep most nights, your appetite has been ruined and Michael is beyond stressed since he can't help.
He feels bad because he can't yet give the baby a bottle at night time or when she wakes up since you are still breastfeeding her and so he feels terrible with the fact that you are always awake in the middle of the night.
However, immediately after her feed, Michael will wind her and get her back to sleep so you can try and catch up on the sleep you're missing.
During the day, you often fall asleep too, leaving Michael to entertain your baby.
This morning, you realised that you were dangerously low on nappies for Ella and so you changed her quickly and got ready to go out and buy some more.
"Where are you going?" Michael asks.
You didn't know he was awake.
"Ella's out of nappies, I've gotta go and get some more." You say.
"Leave her here with me if you like." He offers, coming downstairs fully.
"Only if you're sure." You say nervously.
"Y/N, babe, she's my daughter too, I can take care of her." He laughs.
You nod and gently pass Ella over to Michael who bounces her gently in his arms.
"Whilst you're out, can you bring us some food back? I'm too tired to cook." He says.
"Of course," You kiss Ella and then Michael, "I won't be too long ok?"
They nod and Michael grabs Ellas hands to make it appear as though she is waving to you.
You smile as you leave the house, baby-free, for the first time in a while.
"It's just you and me," Michael tells his daughter, "What should we do?"
Ella looks up at her father with her big green eyes as she chews nonchalantly on her tiny hand.
He shakes his head and sighs, "Yeah, let's just watch some tv."
As you whiz through the shop for nappies, wipes and other things that you think you may need, you worry about Michael and Ella. It's not that you don't trust him around Ella, of course you do, he's just very immature and irresponsible at times.
You hurriedly pay at the checkout and order some food at your local fast food joint.
During your journey home, you listen to some of your favourite bands and unwind a little considering you haven't done so since the birth of Ella.
When you pull up at home, you notice the dark circles under your eyes and your sunken appearance, "I should really sleep more."
You quickly grab all your things out of the car and enter you house to hear what sounds like Peppa Pig to be playing on the tv.
With the box of nappies in your arms, you walk upstairs and put them in the drawer where you keep your baby stuff.
When you walk back downstairs, however, you notice that it's awfully quiet.
Curiously, you poke your head into the living room where your heart proceeds to melt.
Michael is lay asleep with a smile on his face as Ella rests on her dad's chest. She is wrapped beneath a fluffy blanket which keeps the pair of them warm and Ellas small hand rests on Michaels chin.
Despite being asleep, Michaels strong arms are wrapped around his daughter protectively, ensuring that she won't fall.
You gently place his food on the table before turning the television off.
Sadly, you have to wake Michael so he can eat but you want to try and keep Ella asleep.
Stealthily, you pull her from beneath the blanket and tuck her in your jumper so she feels the same warmth. Her eyes flutter slightly but she settles instantly.
You place her in her crib before turning on the baby monitor and closing the door on the sleeping child.
When you get back to Michael, his arms are still folded over his chest as though he's holding Ella and his soft smirk still rests on his face.
You lift his legs and slip underneath them to sit down. Then, you gingerly shake Michaels arm to try and wake him without startling him.
He groans in his sleep and tries to move before he opens his eyes quickly.
"Where's Ella?" He asks, noticing the missing baby.
"Calm down Mikey, she's in bed." You soothe.
"Thank God! I thought I lost her." He breathes.
You laugh, "No, the two of you were asleep on one another, it was adorable."
"See, I do make a good dad." He smiles proudly.
"I never doubted you, now eat, I got {your favourite fast food joint}." You say, pointing to the greasy bag on the table.
"Perfect! Thankyou babe." He smiles.
"No problem Mikey, thankyou for taking good care of Ella." I compliment.
"Eh, it's part of being a dad." He says with a grin.
"Wow, you're still a nerd." You laugh.
"Always."
