This ain't meant to be accurate to the time it's set lmao, I know quiff luke was after high school, I know ash went to a different high school, don't attack me.

The rain tumbles down your face, hair drenched with the violent drops that are currently pelting your body. You shiver and sniffle as you walk towards your school.

Glumly, you turn to the sky and see it staring back at you with a similar expression. It's sad clouds matching up with your face of distaste.

With squinted eyes, you continue onwards, holding your backpack straps.

The music coming from your earphones drowns out the world in the same way the rain does. It washes away the bad and leaves behind cleanliness, however, only briefly.

After a moment or two, the rain stops attacking your face although it still swishes around your ankles and bounces off your boots. You look up and see an umbrella over your head and holding it is a tall blonde boy with a lipring in. His expression is unreadable and his stance radiates awkwardness yet you take your earphones out and wait for him to talk.

He's silent for a moment before his eyes meet yours and he lets out a nervous laugh.

"Hi." He says.

"Uh, hi." You reply with a cautious look about you.

"I'm Luke." He says nervously.

"I'm-"

"Y/N, I know," He blushes deeply and shakes his head, "Sorry."

"No, it's okay," You manage a smile, "Thanks for the umbrella."

"No problem," He smiles, "You looked cold. And mad. I wanted a chance to speak to you and I thought this was my best bet."

"You wanted a chance to speak to me?" You ask.

He smiles a little, "I always see you around school and you look kind of alone. Like me. I just hang around with my band, we're kind of nerdy," He pauses and frowns for a moment, "I'm waffling, oh god. Basically I've wanted to talk to you for a while and just never had the guts but my friends encouraged me."

"You talk a lot don't you?" You smile.

"I'm sorry, I'm usually quite shy, I just think you're really cool." He says.

"Well, I'm not, I'm a nerd too," You laugh over the sound of the rain. You notice how Luke smiles when you laugh and his happiness seems to radiate onto you. "You said you're in a band?"

"Yeah, we mainly do little covers here and there." He says, shoving his free hand into his pocket.

"That's cool." You say, looking down at the rain bouncing in puddles on the floor.

The two of you walk into your school gates and Luke begins to put his umbrella down.

"Thanks again." You say, ready to walk away and go about your day as lonely as ever.

"Do you maybe want to sit with us at lunch?" He asks quickly.

"I- uh."

"It's just me and three others." He says.

"Uh, sure." You smile.

"We hang out upstairs, near the science rooms." He smiles.

"I'll see you there I guess." You say before walking away from him.

As you enter the building, you see three other boys run over to him and jump all over him as he laughs a little. They all scream in his face, shouting words like finally at him and the shortest one jumps onto Luke's back.
