Morning Sickness

It was a beautiful morning in the heart of Troll Village, and every troll waited outside for their queen, Poppy, to emerge from her pod and start the once a month morning song. Even Branch (her boyfriend for a month now) started to get a bit worried himself. So he decided to check on her.

*Knock knock knock*
"Tomato, you okay? It's me, Branch!" Branch didn't get a answer so he went went inside. "Tomato? Where are you?" He ventured on into her bedroom to find a very red Poppy with a thermometer in her mouth and ice pack on her forehead. "Poppy! You're a tomato! (No pun intended)." Poppy opened her eyes to find a scared and concerned Branch staring at her. "Branch, I'm fine." She said in a hoarse voice. "Just a little headache." Branch was bewildered on the way she was handling her intense fever. "Poppy! You have a very high fever and you say it's a headache? Are you out of your mind? I'm taking care of you until you are better." Branch said seriously. "Branch, I said I'm fine." Poppy croaked. Branch looked over at Poppy and smiled. "You're not fine, babe. Stay here, I'm going to get something to make you feel better." Branch quickly left Poppy's pod and ran over to the daily announcement mushroom. "Ehm, good morning fellow citizens of Troll Village. I'm sorry to say that there will be no morning song due to your Queen's sickness. No visitors will be allowed until she is fully healed." The crowd of trolls bowed their heads in respect and walked off, humming their own tune to themselves. Branch jumped off the mushroom to get medicine for Poppy.

Back at the pod, Poppy went to look at her face in the bathroom's mirror. "No wonder Branchie calls me a Tomato." She thought. "Tomato! I'm back. Where are you now?" Branch called out. "Hopping back into bed." Poppy groaned. "Here. Drink this." Branch said firmly. "What is it, Branchie?"
"Umm, cupcakes in a cup."

Poppy looked at Branch then back down at the weird purple substance. "You think I'm crazy, Branch? This isn't cupcakes in a cup. This is cupcake flavored purple juice."

"Damn, this fever is getting to her head." Branch thought. He rolled his eyes and said, "Just drink it, Poppy." "Fine!" Poppy yelled. Poppy hesitantly lifted the cup towards her mouth and drank it. 5 minutes later, she returned back to her normal pink color and her temperature went back to its normal state. Poppy giggled and smiled wider than ever before. "Thank you, Branchie. I feel much better than before." Branch pecked her cheek and returned the smile, causing Poppy to blush. Branch chuckled. "You're welcome, Tomato. Let me know if you feel sick ever again. I'll always be here for you."
