At King Peppy's Pod...

"Poppy", said the old king, "I think it's time we have a little chat." Poppy's heart beat was racing. Had she done something wrong? Poppy walked slowly towards her father, nervously clenching and unclenching her hands. "Yes dad, what is it? Did I do something wrong?" She asked nervously. "No, you did nothing wrong. It's just something that we need to talk about now that you are a queen." Poppy sighed, what a relief. "OK then, what is it?" She asked. " Poppy, I think it's time that we express concerns over continuing the royal bloodline." Poppy's eyes widened. Why would her dad of all people, want to talk about such an embarrassing thing like this? She hadn't even thought about this herself. "Dad, c'mon" she whined, "Do we have to talk about this now? I just turned 22 like...3 weeks ago!" Peppy chuckled. "It is recommended that Trolls have their kids young." He said, smirking .

Poppy rolled her eyes. Why the frig was her dad being so...weird-ish? "Well dad, I have to argue with you about continuing the royal bloodline. Don't I have to at least get married first? I'm not gonna just find some random troll and have a one-night-stand with him."  At this point, Peppy was laughing so hard that Poppy thought he was gonna have a heart attack. Yikes. "Oh Poppy, you know you are such a kook sometimes. And I was just getting to the marriage part before you snatched the words right out my mouth." The old former king got up from his seat and went over to his closet. Poppy's curiosity got the best of her and she asked, "Whatchya gettin in there Dad?" "You'll see in a minute." Peppy said, while holding a leafy crown in his hands. He walked back to Poppy and gave it to her. "This crown belongs to a special troll. Whoever hair it fits is your destined true love." Poppy glanced down at the crown and sighed. She wished that she could have an option because boy oh boy, Poppy would love to have Branch's kids. She swatted that idea aside for the moment.

Peppy saw a single tear drop from Poppy's eyes. "Oh honey, what's the matter? You're gonna get married and have a new family!" Poppy quickly wiped away her tear and breathed. "N-nothing dad! I'm fine. Question: can I ask a friend for help with this task?" Peppy gasped. "No, Poppy! This must be a secret! No one must know you are doing this. Try doing this on the down low. If everybody knows, they'll start crowding around you and....." Poppy tuned out every word her father was saying and took the crown from his hands. "Alright, I gotchu dad." With one swing of her hair on to a branch, she flung herself out of her dad's pod and of to Branch's bunker. "Frig you dad." Poppy muttered with a roll of her eye. "Ima tell Branch. I tell him everything anyways."

"BRANCH! BRANCH! BRANCH! BRANCH! BRANCH!" Poppy yelled out. Branch slid open the hatch of his "door" and stared at Poppy through the peephole. "You can stOP YELLING NOW!" Branch said, clearly annoyed. "Oh, hi Branch!" Poppy gushed. "What do you want from me now?" He asked. "I need your help with something." Of course she does. Branch thought to himself. "Alright whatever, what do you need help with?" Poppy took a deep breath and spoke. "My dad wants me to continue the royal bloodline. And he wants me to get married in order to do that, obviously. The only problem is this.." Poppy ended her sentence and pulled out a green leafy crown from her hair. "Branch, you have no idea how much I hate this but by royal law, it is required that I marry the troll that the crown fits on. *sniffle* T-this really s-stinks Branch." Poppy said sadly as a tear fell from her eyes.

Branch looked at Poppy sympathetically. He got out his bunker and hugged Poppy. "I can see that this really sucks Poppy. But this is just a phase in life. You will get through this and I'll be with you every step of the way. After all, that's what friends are for." It took everything in Poppy not to blush. Hearing his kindhearted words really made her day. She began to cry some more, realizing that she might not be with Branch after all. "Oh Poppy, don't cry. We'll find this lucky troll and the situation will be over. Come on, let's go." Branch wiped away Poppy's tears and held her hand. "Thanks Branch." Poppy spoke. Branch gave Poppy a playful wink and headed towards the village in search of this lucky troll.
