The basement you found after you escaped from Hydra 10 months ago was abandoned, so you decided to stay there for as long as you could. You remembered how you were feeling last time you were there. You had felt scared, vulnerable and powerless, without having anywhere to go and waiting for a miracle to happen. This time the situation was similar, but at least you weren't alone and that helped you to keep fighting. You were relieved to see that the place was still abandoned and no other homeless person had found it. It was still as dirty and gloomy as last time you were there, only that this time everything was more full of dust. You kept wondering if anyone lived in that house, but you could never know, since the door that you guessed led to the ground floor and upper floors was locked, and it still was. There were books piled on top of each other on the floor, a few rusty bikes, an old mattress, and some empty metallic shelves. Everything was full of dust.

You moved towards the wall to find the light switch, and when you flipped it, a single light bulb hanging from the ceiling lit up. You stood there awkwardly, not really knowing what to say or do next.

"So... this is where you stayed before I found you?" Mia said as she broke the silence.

"Yep, it's obviously not the most luxurious basement" you joked. "but it will be enough for a while."

"How long is that 'while' going to be?" Mia asked, quoting the word 'while' with her fingers.

"I honestly don't know" you sighed. "As long as it takes for us to find a new place to start a new life with a fake identity like we did before. We can't go back to Brooklyn. We need to find a small empty place to set up our bookshop again and do the same as we did before."

"Alright, but don't worry, y/n, we'll figure something out, we always do." she looked at her wrist watch. "It's pretty late and you've used a lot of energy and magic, you should fall asleep first and I'll look out, then we can switch." You nodded and headed for the dusty mattress. You made a small swing with your hand and in less than a second all the dust was gone. You lay down and quickly fell asleep.

—Meanwhile at the Avengers Tower—

Peter, Tony, Wanda, and Cap walked inside the building as they were received by the rest of the avengers. Surprisingly everyone was there (Thor, Natasha, T'Challa, Bruce Banner, Clint, all the Guardians, Sam, Bucky, Scott, Dr. Strange, Rhodes, Vision, and Loki, who finally decided to help the Avengers instead of fighting them and trying to conquer the world). They were all hanging out in the large living room. Some were on the couch watching TV, some were playing table games and others were sitting on the bar stalls. Nobody was on any missions and everyone just wanted to hang out all together for once. After all, it was Sunday.

Peter tried so hard to keep his excitement from seeing everyone there, but his sparkling chocolate eyes and large grin gave it all away. Tony hit him softly with his elbow when he saw his smile, indicating that it as a serious time since they had failed their mission. Quickly his smile faded away. The moment they entered the living room, all heads turned to look at the serious heroes.

"Hey! How was the mission? Do you have her?" Natasha asked. When she saw that no one answered and they all looked serious she said: "I guess not. What happened?"
"Well, she escaped by using some kind of magic. It was very powerful and she easily defeated us." Cap said, and everyone looked shocked.
"What do you mean by magic? Wasn't she just one of Hydra's assassin?" Bruce asked very confused.
"She is, but apparently she owns some kind of power that nobody knew about and it wasn't on her report." Tony said. "It's as if we combined Bucky or Steve and Wanda. So, as you can imagine, she's incredibly strong." The room fell silent, everybody was shocked with the news and they were still processing that there was somebody more powerful than Steve, Bucky and Wanda.
"Well, she can't be stronger than me though, I am the god of thunder after all." Thor said proudly with a big smile on his face. Loki rolled his eyes.
"We still don't know that, we need to find her first." Wanda said. Thor's smile faded away.
"Yes, that's why Banner and I will start working immediately on finding out as much as possible about her and her powers at the lab." Tony said, pointing a finger at Bruce.
"What do the rest of us do? We can't just sit here and do nothing." Gamora protested.
"I know that, you can all try to find out as much as possible about her past, but be careful who you ask. As most of you know she escaped from Hydra, they can't know we're looking for her or they'll start looking for her too. You can also train just in case we find her, we'll need a lot of strength and team members to bring her here." Tony said, and he added: "By the way, this is our newest member, Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man." He said as he patted Peter's back and everyone looked at him, some smiled at him while others looked at him seriously.

Peter had been trying to keep a straight face the whole time, but he was so amazed by everyone in the room that he got lost in his own thoughts, while still having you on his mind. The second that Tony said his name, he snapped back into reality with his eyes wide open.
"Hey everyone." He said awkwardly. "I'm Peter." The team stood up to greet him.
He was really excited, and you could see it by the way he looked at each hero.
"Okay, Thor, can you show Peter to his room, he'll be staying with us for a week."
"Of course, come with me Spider Kid." Thor said. Peter followed him as he mumbled:
"It's Spider-Man..."

---Later that day---

"Have you found anything new?" Tony asks.

"Nope, you?" Bruce says, while looking at his computer and typing something.

"Nada"

Bruce and Tony were in the lab, looking for something, anything that would allow them to understand your powers, and who you really were. It was almost 1am and all they found were things they already knew about you.

"Shit!" Tony says, taking off his glasses sitting back with his hand massaging his forehead.

"What?" Bruce asks, alarmed.

"All we've found were things that we already knew or useless facts. The only place where they might have some information about her powers is in Hydra..." in that moment, Tony stopped massaging his forehead and looked up, in a very concentrated look.

"I don't like that look, it never brings anything good" Bruce says. "Wait... are you think- No, Tony, no."

"It's the only way we can find out something useful!" Tony says.

"TONY! Listen to me!" Bruce says, almost yelling. "First of all, hacking into Hydra's database is almost impossible."

"Almost. Besides, we would be able to do it."

"Let me finish! Second of all, if we do it, our system would be vulnerable. They could find out we are hacking into their database, and they could also have access to our own database! They could gain access to nuclear weapons, plans, missions, experiments, anything that is supposed to be top secret! Imagine what would happen if they got access to all that. It's a no from me Tony." Bruce says.

"You have a good point, but still, how are we-" Tony starts saying but he is cut off by his phone when it starts ringing. "Hello?" he says as he picks up the phone.

"Hi, is this Tony Stark?" a female voice says through the phone.

"Depends, who's asking?" Tony says, as he looks at Bruce in a serious way, raising one eyebrow.

"I'm Mia Davis, I have her."
