Chapter One
Luna sat there at her kitchen table doodling a picture of her, her father, and her mother. Things had gotten quite lonely ever since her father died. Of course she was seventeen now, and could own the house to herself and do magic, she was just lonely.
Her ears perked up to the sounding of a soft hoot. A lovely Speckled owl landed on her table in front of her with her last ever Hogwarts letter. She smiled at the owl and gave it and apple slice from her plate of fruits, and offered some orange juice. The owl hooted gratefully and took at sip of the juice, then flew off with the apple slice.
Luna looked at the package weirdly. It was a lot larger than he other packages. Oh well, she thought with a shrug, and opened if. Luna gasped in shock.
Head Girl.
It was across the top of a badge that came with a list of instructions and gratitude.
Luna put her shock to the side, and instead wondered on how she would pay. Her money was running short, and she wasn't sure how much she had at Gringotts - she had never been with her father while he got money.
She decided to hurry up and get her supplies today so that she didn't have to worry about it until time to go to Hogwarts.
Luna hurried up the stairs to her room and pulled on a loose white blouse, sky blue skinny jeans, and white flats with bows on them. She put her long hair to the side in a loose fishtail-braid, and threw on her navy blue cloak. Her wand was placed behind her ear for safe-keeping.
A box full of money was hidden magically, and Luna took a couple of galleons, sickles, and knuts from it. She put them into a tiny pouch that she tied to a belt loop of her jeans. She also put the key to her Gringotts bank vault in there.
Luna tucked in the Deathly Hallows necklace that used to belong to her father in her top. She never took it off.
Since Luna had just recently passed her apparition test, she decided to apparate there. Her apparition landed her safely between Flourish and Botts and Ollivander's.
People of all kinds were starting to appear to do their wizarding shopping. Luna smiled at the first-years-to-be. She turned around to start heading towards Gringotts.
When Luna arrived at Gringotts, she walked up to a goblin. Smiling politely, she said, "Hello."
The goblin looked down in a startle. "Hello. Welcome to Gringotts, how may I help you?"
Her smile stayed on her face, "I am Luna Lovegood and I would like to access my vault, please."
The goblin looked at her funnily. "We have no Luna Lovegood vault."
She thought for a moment then said, "It might be under my father's name. Xenophilius Lovegood."
The goblin flipped a couple of pages in his book, then said, "Ah, here we are. Xenophilius Lovegood. He hasn't been here in about seven years, why are you here, instead?"
She smiled the best she could, but still wanted to cry. "I'm afraid he has passed during the war, and he has left everything to me." The Deathly Hallows necklace was suddenly growing very cold and heavy between her breasts, pressing against her skin when she inhaled.
The goblin looked the least bit sympathized. "Do you have your key?" He asked.
Luna pulled out the key to her vault from her pouch, and handed it to the goblin with a smile. The goblin smiled back and said, "This way, please." Luna followed.
Luna thought the carriage ride was delightful and fun. Maybe one day she would want to go to a muggle amusement park. She's heard a great deal about them, but has never actually been.
