Chapter Nine

October 3rd, day three of the Dare Challenge

Cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo...

"Draco... Time to get up..."

Luna lightly brushed Draco's soft hair out of his face. It was lightly damp, showing that he went to bed before it could dry. His hair smelled faintly of green apple shampoo, and Luna thought that maybe that is why he smells like apples all the time.

Without his cologne of crisp mint, Draco scented pure. Luna still preferred his cologne, though.

Gray eyes cracked open to look at her pleadingly. Draco looked as if he was a puppy begging for food.

"Do I have to get up?" he asked in a groggy voice.

Luna smiled. "Yes, Draco. It's time for school."

Draco groaned, hugging Luna to him. He buried his face in the hair that rested on her chest as Luna giggled. He mumbled something that sounded either like, "Llama-goat," or, "I don't want to get up." Luna decided it was the latter.

"We have to get ready," she said sternly.

"No," he said, mimicking a child trying to argue with his mum.

"Draco," she warned.

"No," he said again, hugging her even tighter to him.

She sighed, toying with the damp blond hair on the back of his head. He giggled slightly when her fingers brushed the nape of his neck.

"That tickles," he mumbled.

She smirked, lightly running her fingers over the ticklish spot. He giggled more. "Luna, stop."

"Get up," she put up for a bargain.

"I don't want to," he said.

"Well," replied Luna. "Then I don't want to stop doing this." She tickled his neck again.

Draco jerked back, a smile on his face. "So it's going to be like that, huh?"

He sat up, resting on his knees. Luna sat up, too, her hair like a lion's mane. They both had lingering smiles as they stared at each other.

"Well, I got you up," Luna finally spoke. "I'm off to get dressed."

"Oh, no, you don't!" claimed Draco, pinning her down to the bed.

She laughed. "Draco, let me go. I need to get ready."

"No," he said, a mischievous grin on his face. "I think I'll stay right here."

Then, with that, Draco started to tickle her.

"No! No! Dra - ha! Draco stop - ha ha!" Luna was a fit of giggles and laughter.

A minute later, Draco had stopped. He got off of the bed and walked to the closet. Luna's sides buzzed, and her stomach ached from laughing so heartedly.

"I think you've endured enough punishment," concluded Draco. "You're dismissed."

"Ugh!" gasped Luna. "That was so mean!"
