It was a chilly October morning. The temperature is quite hotter than usual here in LA.
Kaycee was busy on her phone scrolling through instagram reading comments and reactions of fans and friends to a reverse video of herself enjoying the sun and celebrating her birthmonth. She let out a giggle just re-watching it.
"Whatchu laughing at there lil egghead?" Suddenly a voice came out of nowhere.
"You scared the cr*p out of me" She gasped, immediately throwing a pillow at the person whom the voice belonged to as they both laughed
"Whatever, breakfast is ready." He said
"Ooooh, did you make it?" Kaycee asked following him through the halls of the house into the kitchen.
"I mean, Mom and Dad are out playing tennis, Serris is asleep, and I just sat at the corner watching cat videos. Sooo, I guess the ghost made this delicious meal." He casually shrugged serving Kaycee the plate of stacked pancakes
"But you said you prefer dogs rather than cats" She gave him a questioning look, she did have a point. Sean would never switch Oreo for any other pet.
"So anyway, would you mind telling me what this 'delicious' meal is?" She added eyeing the beautifully stacked pancakes
"It's just pancakes?" He said looking at her
"Hey, I'm the judge here thank you very much." She said trying to look stubborn
"Well, it's pancakes made from scratch, bananas and strawberry smiley face and whipped cream for a button nose. Oh, and I also made the syrup" Sean smiled but she already started devouring it
"Tastes good actually" She tried to say but her mouth was too full.
Weirdo. Sean murmured to himself. He grabbed himself a serving and stood beside her eating the pancakes at the countertop, not bothering to sit at the dinner table since they both agreed that it would feel lonely and a bit awkward if only the two of them sat there. Actually, he always liked Kaycee's company. There was never a dull moment plus she keeps him sane from all the pressure and practices for the upcoming world of dance competition.
After breakfast, Sean put the dishes inside the dishwasher and started to follow Kaycee to the garage. It's where they mostly practice their routine.
As he entered the garage he saw that Kaycee was lying on the floor, eyes closed, phone in hand.
"We both know your only pretending to be dead.....it ain't working" Sean chuckled as he approached her
A smile starts to form on Kaycee's lips and sooner or later they both found themselves bursting in laughter
"I was pretending that you poisoned me with your pancakes" Kaycee said as she giggled
"You know too damn well that my pancakes were awesome" He chuckled also laying down beside her but still keeping a distance
She had to admit, it was one of the most fantastic pancakes she'd had for a very long time.
"Whatever, let's get some work done" Kaycee said standing up but Sean still layed on the floor pretending to hear nothing.
"Come on!" She said slightly kicking his leg.
"We need to practice." She said sternly with a hint of laughter as she offered a hand to let Sean up
Y'know, in the movies it was usually the other way around. He thought to himself. With all of her strength, Kaycee pulled Sean up and they both laughed hysterically.
"I'll go fix the speakers." She offered as Sean went to his laptop pretending to look busy
God, man up! Girls don't like cowards. Who cares if they don't like cowards?? I'm not trying to get her attention, right? ASDFGHJKL who am I kidding? I'm a sucker for that smile. Snap out of it!
"You okay there?" Sean's thoughts were disturbed
"Yeah yeah, what's wrong?" He asked
"Because you're scrolling down your laptop when its not even open" Kaycee giggled
"Right..." was all he could said. Fantastic.
"I was just thinking, y'know, brainstorming." He started to say, praying that she is somehow convinced
"Tell me" She replied taking a seat at the middle of the dance floor
"Uhhh... idunno yet. Just something original and creative. I'm still working on it. Just trust me and I'll come up with something." He replied hoping and still praying that she doesn't have a clue that he was busy daydreaming about her, what?
"It's cool. I have alot of faith on you." she giggled whilst standing up and getting on her phone. They were completely on the opposite side of the room but continued talking like they were next to each other
"Really?" He smirked taking a seat on one of his high desks
"Definitely" She smiled looking up from her phone
This is the type of smile Sean loves. When she looks beautiful even though she never notice, just a casual genuine smile. When she looks at you dead in the eyes, you start to believe in those cliche love songs and about how you could get lost in them eyes. When her lips are perfectly curved, and the dimples near her eyes also start to show. Her laugh tells so much more than you think, it's beautiful and addictive.
"Sean?" She said once more
"Yeah?" He finally snapped back
"I said, we should start warming up" She giggled
There it goes again.
"Yes!" He blurted out, saying the first word that's on top of his head.
Oh god, what is this weird happy feeling? My palms and feet are sweaty. Why am I suddenly so nervous? What is this feeling?
