"Ready? Get set, go!" Kaycee exclaimed as both of them downed their drinks in one go
"Ahhhh brain freeze!" Sean winced as they burst out laughing
"You suck at this game" she giggled
They were trying to see who could finish their whole drinks first. It was a game they made up a few days ago at rehearsals and they had nothing with them but a big cup of soda leftover from their lunch at in n out
"No fair, my drink is twice as yours" Sean complained but both of them were still laughing
"Here's your bill sir" a waiter said, interrupting their little game as he placed the it at the side of the table.
"I got this one"
Sean got his wallet out and reached for the bill but was surprised when there was already a hand on top of it.
He looked at the hand placed underneath his and traced the arm to find out who it belonged to as if he didn't know already. His eyes landed on the girl sitting infront of him that had mischief in her eyes and a playful grin on her lips"I'm paying for the bill" he said looking at her dead in the eyes
"And why so? Why can't we just split the bill?" She raised an eyebrow at him as she tried to hide her smile
"Where's the fun in that? I'm paying." He said sternly
"Can't make me.."
"Oh yeah I can," he said confidently
"How exactly?" She smirked, both of them getting a little too cocky
Kaycee gave him the most meanest stare she could ever make, her eyes piercing into his.. but to Sean, she just looked adorably intimidating to the point that she actually looks cute when she's trying to look scary
But before she knew it, Sean lift her hand up that was placed firmly on top of the bill and interlaced their fingers together.
Kaycee was somehow shocked by this small act. Her eyes grew wide and her mouth agape as she struggled to speak
"What are you doing?" She managed to ask
"What does it look like?" He replied with a chuckle
"Dude you can't do that in public" Kaycee bit her lip, trying to hide her blushing face but still never let go of his hand
"Oh but I can." he replied making both of them laugh
It wasn't a really big deal honestly and it was definitely not the first time they held hands. What bothered Kaycee was the fact that they even have the courage to do this on a FRIENDLY date. But once their hands touched, she instantly felt a burning feeling on her face that she couldn't help but show.
Sean enjoyed her reaction and smiled to himself. She was turning into a strawberry again which he found oddly cute
"Told ya I can make it happen" he smirked proudly after successfully paying for the bill
"Only this time" Kaycee rolled her eyes, their hands still linked together
She felt happy, so so happy.
Sean simply drived her insane in the best way possible. He makes her feel these foreign feelings that she never once felt in her whole existence. He was different. He had this affect on her that she can't possibly say no to. Despite all the things that could get in their way, it felt like this was going to work.
"Soo, shall we go to this so called 'perfect fro-yo place' you speak of?" Sean asked disturbing her from her thoughts
"What? Ohh-uhh yeah, let's go." She replied with a big smile as they stood up from their seats
Both of them were surprised to see that the place was full and crowded by people. It felt like they were getting followed everywhere. Guess they were too caught up on their meal and to each other that they didn't notice the rush hour.
They slowly made their way out the door, avoiding the people and the waiters who were walking way too fast as Sean protectively put an arm near Kaycee to make sure no one bumps into her
Once they finally got in the car, the two of them started to drive off as Kaycee lead the way and pointed out each and every turn, just to keep the whole fro-yo place a mystery to him. It was fun really, they were dancing and singing along to the soundtrack of The Greatest Showman.
Sean tried his best to focus on the road but Kaycee's singing totally got him. He couldn't keep his eyes off her.
"Noo, I said turn left!" Kaycee giggled as she facepalmed herself
"Err.. sorry" Sean chuckled as he stepped on the breaks causing both of them to lean forward a bit
"You know we can just park here and make a run for it" her eyes gleamed as she thought of a brilliant idea
Sean turned to look at her and saw the mischief in her smile. Without a second thought, Sean pulled over to the nearest parking spot just at the side of the street.
As soon as he managed to park the car, he pulled the key out the ignition and turned to look at her
"Let's go!"
Kaycee let out a small squeal as she enthusiastically took her seatbelt off and jumped out the car. Sean watched her and grinned, doing the same thing
....
"Where are we?" Sean asked in between laughs as Kaycee dragged him around the streets, dodging the people that were coming from the opposite direction
"We're almost there!" She giggled, holding onto his wrist as if her life depended on it
Kaycee only looked ahead with Sean trying to keep up with her. Her legs kept running and running and she couldn't bother to stop as the cold wind brush against her face
"Hey hey hey!" Sean held her back, gripping her arm tightly as he pulled her off the crosswalk.
She was running too fast that she didn't even had a chance to look at the walk sign.
"Kaycee!" He panted, a bead of sweat slowly dripping down his temples
"Chill, there's not even a single car here" she replied innocently
"Yeah but the walk sign says stop." Sean said telling her off as he gripped both her arms tightly, looking at her dead in the eyes
This girl was gonna be the death of him.
