"Dad, I have something to tell you, something life changing." Adrien flipped the ring in his fingers as he stared at his dad. "I kind of got something... something amazing."
His father's constant disapproving gaze changed to genuine interest. Gabrielle wasn't sure that it was what he thought it was, but if his son was going to reveal himself, he might as well listen.
"Okay," Adrien said with a sigh. He slipped the ring on and transformed into his alter ego, Cat Noir, before looking straight into his father's eyes. They weren't even filled with shock, it seemed to be... hope?
"Father? Please say something." He turned back to his civilian self and took off the ring before the kwami could lecture him.
Gabrielle simply smiled and collected his thoughts. "Come with me, my son."
He led Adrien into his office and pulled the picture of his wife like it was a door. He inserted a code into the safe that was hidden behind it and showed his son a book filled with pictures of the various miraculouses.
"How'd you get this?" Adrien asked, his eyes shimmering as he glanced at the pictures with unintelligible lettering around them.
"Well," he flipped the page to a peacock inspired hero and handed the corresponding broach to his son. "Let's just say that I was chosen as well."
"What does this even say?" The boy asked his father, enjoying this bonding session that they were actually having. His fingers traced the pages of the Black Cat as he tried to translate.
"The book says that this ring you have here," he pointed to Adrien's finger for emphasis, "can be combined with these earrings," he flipped the page to a Ladybug inspired superhero, "to grant a wish."
"That's so cool!" Adrien seemed extremely excited, "so what would you do with your wish?"
Gabrielle Agreste stared at his son, full of emotion. "I would get your mother back..." he responded.
Adrien stared at his father, the thought of their broken family completely mended again. "Let's do it, let's get Ladybug's miraculous... for mom."
