"So, son, how did your 'date' with Ladybug go?" his father asked expectantly when he crashed through the front doors.
Adrien didn't even say his transformation words, he just threw his ring upstairs towards his room and collapsed onto the couch, face down.
"I'll take it as not very well, did you at least learn anything that could help us?"
"No, the whole day was useless," Adrien responded before sulking up to his room, picking up his ring and putting it in a drawer full of socks. He didn't want his kwami's comments or demands for cheese, he didn't want anyone around right now. Except maybe his mom.
I had a chance to get her back, but I blew it. I blew it because somehow I got attached to that stupid girl from fencing class and was disgusted by myself.
Adrien thought it over and realized that he would of never been able to live with the knowledge that he had used Marinette for his plan. He felt gross enough for just kissing Ladybug without knowing that it was someone he cared about, but now his fantasy of getting Marinette to kiss him was ruined, because he abused his position as Chat Noir. She only liked that version of him, the version that was lying to her. She didn't like him in that way at all.
A knock came from his door and he just screamed for them to open it themselves, it was Gabrielle. "My akumas wanted to change you to an evil version of yourself, did things with Ladybug really go that badly?"
"No," Adrien lied, yet again. "I just want our plan to be over already so that way Mom will be here."
"Me too," Gabrielle admitted, patting his son on the back before leaving the room. He lingered in the doorway and turned around to look at his son. "Keep up the good work."
