Chapter 4

Sadhbh's p.o.v
"Sadhbh how was the date"

"It wasn't a date, it was just two people talking and having coffee"

"It was so a date"

"Sure Jay whatever floats your boat"

"So how was it anyway"

"It was good we walked and talked it was like talking to a best friend"

"Well jeez that's bad"

"How is that bad"

"Cause the poor lad is getting friend zoned"

"And what's wrong with that"

"What are you going to do if he starts falling for you"

"I don't know all I know is that I'm not ready for a relationship I'm barely even ready to expand my friend group"

"It's cause of what happened years ago isn't it"

"Yeah it's hard to get back to normal but I'm trying to one step at a time"

"Good because don't forget you still gotta go on a date with Michael"

"Yeah right I'm going outside for a bit"

Sadhbh goes out the back and hears Michael talking to the lads

"Ashton I know you are trying to help but man it hurt like hell when I lost her she was like a best friend to me she was there all the time then one day she was gone and I don't know why I never found out why she disappeared like I don't know what happened to make her isolate herself from everyone she was bubbly and fun everyone who knew her was worried because after that day she never smiled or talked to anyone anymore she sank into herself she was rarely at home she hid away from everyone even her family she slowly faded away from everything last time I heard about her she finished her degree and got an amazing job and was getting her life back on track and ever since I've had the same thought haunt me as to what caused her to avoid human interaction for years so Ash yeah losing her again isn't an ideal scenario"

"Mike I had no idea that Sadhbh meant that much to you"

Sadhbh takes of her top and skirt and jumps into the pool and swims with Michael's and Ashton's words going through here head over and over again then suddenly it all comes rushing back she starts to have a panic attack everything starts to go black the last thing she heard was Riley screaming her name

"Jay get help quick"

The lads hear the commotion and run outside to the fence and see Sadhbh unconscious in the pool so they hop over the fence and go to help

"What happened"

"I don't know I just seen her having a panic attack and then she collapsed"

Jay runs back out to them just as Michael is coming out of the pool with Sadhbh in his arms

"The ambulance is on the way"

Sadhbh stirs a little

"Sadhbh are you okay"

The paramedics come jogging up to them

"What happened to her"

"She went for a swim and had a panic attack"

The paramedics give her a check over and then decide to bring her to the hospital for test to ensure all is okay with her

"Hey um can I go to the hospital with you so I can see her"

"Yeah sure I'd say she would like to see you apart from me and Riley all the time I don't get how she puts up with us lol"

They all head to the hospital Ashton ended up bringing Mike cause the lads all wanted to talk to him

"Mike stop worrying about her she is going to be okay"

"And what if she isn't what happens if something is wrong with her"

"Well you can stop worrying cause we are here"

They all pile out of the car and head in they ask where she is then follow the directions they were given she is still asleep when they get to her room

"Jeez you lot took a while to get here"

Sadhbh stirs and then her eyes open

"What happened where am I"

"Your in the hospital the doctor said you had a really bad panic attack"

"No this can't be happening again"

"Sadhbh calm down"

"How can I calm down when I remembered stuff that I shut out of my mind years ago because the memories hurt Riley I knew Mike when we were kids and today I over heard him talking to Ash about it and how he doesn't want to lose me again and quiet frankly I'm scared"

"Um Sadhbh the lads are here"

Sadhbh looks over to where the lads are and locks eyes with Michael

"I was going to tell you"

"Michael I..."

"Sadhbh before you continue I need to ask you something"

"Okay"

"Why did you push me away we were best friends"

"I was sick and then my gramps passed away and I didn't know if I'd get better so I pushed everyone away and stuck to myself that's why I was out for the year"

Michael pulls her into a hug.

"So what did you want to say"

"I'm sorry"

"We are going to give you two some space"

They leave the room and leave them to talk

"Sadhbh you don't need to be sorry that's a lot to go through I don't blame you for trying not to hurt people, how come you were never at home?"

"I was in the hospital"

"What made you go into hospital"

"I had leukemia"

Michael stares at her in disbelief he can't process the fact that she was fighting for her life

"Michael"

He doesn't respond he just looks at her blankly

"Michael say something please"

"Sadhbh I'm sorry I have to go"

With that he walks out of her room and runs out of the hospital. Sadhbh bursts out crying she can't believe he left like that the girls walk in so she quickly wipes away the tears

"Can you get a doctor please I want to go home"

They go get a doctor and after a few questions she is discharged and on the way home
