Chapter 7

Michael's p.o.v
As Michael walks around the hotel he can't help but think about what things would have been like if she never isolated herself would they still be best friends or would he have asked her out. He keeps on thinking about the letter he wanted to give her years ago that he brings with him everywhere and leaves it on his bedside locker he keeps exploring the hotel then goes out of the hotel and explores the grounds and heads back to the hotel room to see Sadhbh sitting on the ground reading the letter with tears streaming down her face

"Michael"

"Sadhbh I"

"How old is this letter"

"Senior year I wrote it I tried to find you to give it to you but I never could so I kept it and brought it with me everywhere I went in case I saw you now it's just become a habit because its the last thing I had that had something to do with you"

"Mike did you actually mean what you said in this letter"

"Yes I did I meant every word of it"

Sadhbh gets up off the floor and puts the letter on the bed and looks Michael in the eyes as the tears flow down her cheeks Michael walks up to her then cups her face in his hands and wipes the tears away with his thumbs Sadhbh closes her eyes in hopes to stop the tears but her attempt is useless as the tears still flow Michael pulls her into a hug and holds her tight 

"Sadhbh don't cry it's all okay"

"But Mike you have wanted to give me this letter for four years and.."

"It doesn't matter you got it now and that's all that matters"

"I'm sorry Mike I shouldn't have just taken it and read it I just couldn't help it cause my name was on it and I was curious" 

He pulls away from the hug and looks Sadhbh in the eyes

"Sadhbh it was for you, you don't need to be sorry for reading it I'm the one that needs to be sorry for not giving it to you sooner"

Sadhbh looks down at the ground 

"You meant it four years ago but do you still mean it now"

Michael puts a finger under her chin and tilts her head up so he can look into her eyes

"Of course I still mean it Sadhbh even ask the lads they will even tell you that I never stopped loving you"

"You l-love me"

"I have loved you for years"

Sadhbh smiles unsure of what to say so she just looks at him

"I don't expect you to feel the same, and if you don't please don't let this ruin our friendship"

"Michael shut up and kiss me already"

Michael pulls her closer and kisses her as if it were the last time he would be able to after a bit they pull away Michael leans his forehead on her forehead 

"I've wanted to kiss you for a long time"

Sadhbh blushes 

"Your adorable when you blush"

"Oh no no way adorable blushing is when the cheeks go slightly red not when the whole face goes the brightest red humanly possible"

Michael rolls his eyes and laughs

"Sadhbh chill and take the compliment"

"Fine"

"Your too cute"

"Thanks, but I'm hungry"

"Alright food it is"

They head down to the restaurant and get some lunch for themselves then they head out down to the beach and walk along the shore and talk

"So Mike favorite Ice cream flavor"

"Uh chocolate chip"

"Is that the first one that came to mind"

"Yep pretty much, what's your favorite ice cream flavor"

"Chocolate fudge brownie or mint chocolate chip"

"Favorite song"

"Over the rainbow or smile"

"Favorite color"

"Royal blue"

"Favorite place"

"The woods because I love climbing trees and walking through the woods in my bare feet"

"I love the concept of dark hair on me"

"I'd get a G on my wrist"

"Now that is top secret"

"Okay, favorite hobby"

"Hasn't changed its still music. And hey I started this since when did you take over"

"Since the ice cream question"

"I only get to ask one question then"

"No I just wanted to see how much you have changed"

"I'm going to take that in a good way"

"Do because it just means I still know you well then"

"Oh do you now. Are you brave enough to put that to the test"

"Okay, a random fact about me that nobody would know"

"You always slept with a teddy bear long after everyone else stopped doing that because they had special meanings to you which helped you sleep"

"Okay fine you do know me well. I can't believe you still remember that though"

"How could I forget that it shows how innocent you are and I bet you still sleep with a teddy"

"Yeah I do it's the only thing that helps with the insomnia"

"I never realized you struggled to sleep"

"Yeah it started when I was admitted to hospital only thing that helped was a teddy bear"

"You want fun do ya Clifford well then I'll race you back to the hotel"

With that they both run back to the hotel Sadhbh lost cause she dropped her shoe and had to stop to pick it up but she beat him back to the room where they both got all the sand cleaned off and went to get dinner
