Michael's POV (skips a year)
"Come on Michael it's been months just call or text her"
"Ashton she wanted to break up with me she didn't want to be with me"
"I know Mike but she was just looking out for the band"
"It wasn't her choice though it should have been mutual"
"Just call her"
"Fine just to shut you up"
Michael pulls out his phone and face times Sadhbh he was no expecting to see her like that
"Hi Michael"
He looks at her in shock she looks so sick there's not an ounce of color on her face and she has no eyebrows or hair
"Sadhbh you look so different"
"Hang on"
"You didn't need to do that"
"I feel better with a hat on, so what were you calling for"
"Ashton brought you up I wanted to see how you were"
"I'm fine, still not back to how I was but I'm getting there"
Ashton jumps into the screen
"Hey Sadhbh, when you getting out"
"Isolation ended two months ago so I'm able to see more than just my mom said dad and if all goes well I could be out soon"
"We'll see you in a bit"
Ashton ends the call
"Ashton what the hell"
"What you care about her right so you and I are going to visit her so let's go"
"Fine"
They head out to the car and head to the hospital when they arrive they head for her room. When they see her they are taken back by her appearance she looks skinnier than she had previously.
"Hey guys"
Ashton walks up to her
"Hey Sadhbh"
"You okay Michael"
"I gotta go"
Michael walks out of the room, he calls Luke
"Hey man I thought you and Ash were visiting Sadhbh"
"We were but I just couldn't do it Luke she looks so different she's a lot skinnier and she lost her hair it hurts to look at her because I know she's not well and I can't do anything to help her I feel so helpless around her"
"Michael you can do something to help her you can be there for her"
"That's not going to cure her though"
"Michael by you being there for her it's going to make her happy that's the best medicine going"
"Alright alright I'm going to go back to her room, thanks Luke"
Michael ends the call and hesitates for a moment before going back to her room he pauses at the door when he hears Sadhbh talking to Ashton about him
"Ashton everything changed with Michael when I got sick he can't even bear to look at me now..."
Sadhbh starts to cry a bit but continues to talk
"Cancer made me ugly enough for him to run away from me Ash I lost Mike because of this stupid cancer"
Michael walked in not wanting to hear her sound so broken
"Cancer hasn't made you ugly Sadhbh you haven't lost me I walked out because I couldn't deal with the fact that I can't do anything to help you get better I just want to make it all go away"
Michael walks over to Sadhbh and sits on the chair beside her bed
"I'll leave you too to it"
"Sadhbh I'm not going anywhere"
"I don't want you to have to deal with a sick person"
"I don't care you mean the world to me I'll look after you I'll love you I'll help you in any way I can"
"Y-you love me even after breaking up with you"
"How couldn't I love you you're amazing you are just all around a positive beautiful person that I love"
"I love you too Mikey"
"I wish I told you that sooner"
"I'm glad it was now, because you have just given me something that's going to keep me smiling"
"I'm glad, Sadhbh will you be my girlfriend"
"Yes I'd love to Mikey"
The nurse walks in looking at Sadhbh's chart
"How are you feeling today Sadhbh"
"Better"
"What's got you all smiley today"
"My boyfriend came to see me"
"Aww cute"
Sadhbh blushes
"Well Sadhbh I'm just going to take some blood for tests"
"Okay"
"Why does she need tests"
"It's just to see if her markers are down"
"Ah okay"
The nurse takes some blood then leaves the room
"I just want to get out of here, Michael break me out please"
"I can't break you out"
"Why not"
"They aren't going to discharge you until you are ready to get out I don't want to break you out and then you ending up getting worse"
"Fine, party pooper"
Michael chuckels and starts to think about Luke's words 'I'm glad that I listened to him if I didn't I don't think I would have been with here now'
"Earth to Michael"
"Hu what"
"You okay you zoned out"
"Yeah I was just thinking"
"Okay that's good I think"
"I was just thinking of how Luke's words made me walk back here"
"What did he say"
"I said to him how I felt rotten about not being able to help you and he said I could help you by being there that it would be the best medicine because it would make you happy"
"Well he was most certainly correct"
Ashton walks back in
"I don't hear arguing so I'm going to guess that you two are getting along"
"I couldn't fight with my girlfriend Ashton"
"Good luck with him Sadhbh he's a tough one"
"I'll say I could deal with him thanks for the heads up though Ash"
They all laugh
"Oh yeah make me out to be difficult why don't you"
"That's what I'm here for Mike"
"I think it's time to look for a new drummer for the band"
"Oh hell no Sadhbh back me up here"
"Hate to break it to you Mikey but you all signed a contract you can't get rid of Ashton"
"Ugh why oh why"
