Prophecy (On Hold)

~7~For The Love Of- ~

It's been a month since we've been here. Every now and then I get flashes of the past. I haven't told Lillian about them otherwise she'd be worried all the time.

Over the time we've been here this place feels more like home. I love how it's just me and my best friend living off of resources from the forest

Ok it's not all true we take occasional trips to Halla Village to get things and we also visit Aria and her family.

It's now been over a year and a half since we left the Golden Panthers Guild.

"I wonder what would of happened, if what happened, didn't happen?" I say to myself.

I am currently sitting in a tree that is on the edge of a cliff, at the cliff base there's a lake and a waterfall on the far side.

As I continue to wonder I hear a twig snap. I ignore it thinking that's probably an animal.

That thought went out the window when I felt like someone was watching me.

I kept acting normal waiting for the right time to strike.

That time came when I heard an arrow being shot, at the last second I dodged, grabbed the arrow, did an aerial out of the tree and mid flip throwing the arrow with as much force at the figure that I faced when I landed.

I lift my head to see the girl my age with chestnut brown hair and matching eyes.

She's wear a plain, black hooded jacket-with only the two middle button done-that reached mid-torso, exposing her stomach that has a scar running across her bellybutton.
She also has black leggings and dark brown combat boots.
To top it off she has a bandana that covers her nose and mouth, with her medium length hair framing her face. Radiating from her is a massive magical presence.

Did I mention she has a bow and arrow aimed straight for me? Well now you know.

"Oh for the love of-" I get cut when she shoots.

I run towards her dodging the arrows as she's about to strike using the bow, I dive roll to the right. Swiftly grabbing the bow as I do so.

She turns instantly getting into a fighting stance, and I do the same tossing her bow aside.

"Who are you?" She asks, her voice serious and determined as we circle around.

Without a second thought she makes the first move.

I keep dodging and blocking hits, kicks and punches. She a very skilled fighter, but so am I.

Yeah, by the way when I was out here training I decided to learn how to fist fight and use weapons... ok, ok Lillian forced me. She said 'you may be crazy powerful, but sometimes magic isn't everything', why does she have to always be right?

But back to the fight...

"Shouldn't I be asking you?" I say as I make my first attack. She dodged but didn't see me slip behind her, catching her off guard I kick just behind her knees and her legs give out.

I step back puffing.

"I don't want to hurt you, so stop this and lets talk like civilised people" I huff out hoping that this doesn't keep going.

"Then tell me, who are you? And what is your purpose here in this sacred forest?" She demands, standing up.

"Adaline Jayla. I'm here with my best friend Lillian to train" I reply with no hesitation.

"What is you purpose for training? And why did you choose the fallen kingdom"

"Before I answer, may I please know your name?"

"Miranda Harris, descendent of the gate keeper"

I'm astonished. The gate keeper? He was know for the power he had of breaking the barriers between worlds, realms and the universes. He was one of the 10 guardians of this world. No wonder I feel as though she's magically powerful.

"That explains it. I'm sorry for the intrusion. But to answer your questions, I feel as we should go to a more private place. What you will find out is on a very personal level."

I know, you just met her? Why are you telling her your life story!?

Well it's because I want her to see us-Lillian and I- as allies. Trust me you don't want to make an enemy out of her.

I lead Miranda back to our camp and explain our situation.

By the time I finished the very long story all three of us are sitting around the fire.

Miranda is a very serious girl. She lacks humour, so I can't joke around with her.

Bummer.

She seems really nice and looks as though she has good intentions.

"Where do you plan on going once you've finished training?"

Lillian and I share a look. We haven't actually talked about our next course of action.

"Well we aren't sure but what we do know is that we will go to the Golden Panthers to update Master Sholet. We'd probably go to see Master Kinn aswell at Phoenix Talon" I casually say.

Miranda's eyes widen.

"Did you say Master Kinn? How do you know him?"

"It's another long story"

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've been super stressed and I had just started my school holiday recently.

Since I have just over another week to waste I'll probably try to get another chapter out.
