We walk out of the guild. No longer members of the 'Golden Panthers'. The trip back to our apartment was quiet. We didn't want to say anything, afraid that if we open our mouths we will start to breakdown.
Once we got home I started packing. As I cleaned out my closet I found a scroll. My scroll. The Prophecy. I picked it up and faced the door to see Lillian with her scroll.
We silently agreed to sit on the couch and read them. We started to read Lillian's story.
The Legend Of The Dragon Princess
Dragons. Lost creatures. Creatures of harmony. One bloodline may rule over the dragons.
A child, baby girl. One to waver the choice between good and bad.
Will either fight alongside the prophecy, or fight to save her from the evil that lies beneath her heart of gold.
Can she save us from certain doom?
We looked at each other, I then unravel the scroll in my hands;
The Prophecy
In amongst the countless legends and myths, lies the story of the prophecy.
A child, re-incarnation of two historical beings who once have walked this land. Valentina-Elf princess, guardian of light and life itself, and Emery-Corrupted demon and werewolf hybrid, guardian of darkness and death.
Will 'HE' succeed in corrupting her as he did with Emery or will she fight against the pain for those she cares for.
Bad or Good. What path will she choose.
I place down the old, dirty piece or paper, these were given to us by the dragon elders. These were 2 of the few stories that were passed down multiple generations to remind us that there will be another big war, and that we are a key part of this oncoming slaughter of beings. I have a choice to make, and Lillian is here to help me.
We both went our separate ways to finish packing.
~after a few hours of packing~
I brush my hands, I had just finished packing, I flop on the floor, and wait for Lillian to come back from informing the owner of the apartment of our departure.
I heard the someone opening the door, I tilt my head to the side to see Lillian. She walks up to where I'm laying, "lollipop?" She offers while holding out one. I giggle and take it out of her hand. She lays down next to me as I pop the lollipop into my mouth. We lay there for what feels like forever.
I look at the clock hung up on the wall...
"We better get going, the last train leaves soon" I say, she nods and goes to grab her bags.
As we walk through the town, we talk about our memories here.
"Oh look! That's where you met Grayson for the first time" I said wiggling my eyebrows at her. She roll her eyes and replies "your an idiot." I just laugh it off.
We turn a corner and bump into two people. I look up to see Anna and Grayson. Speaking of the devil. "Anna, Grayson. What are you doing out here?" I ask, "looking for you two" Grayson says, "would you like to accompany us to the train station?" Lillian asks. Instead of replying Anna grabs out hand and starts to drag us to the train station.
We finally reach the train station. I turn to face everyone. "I guess this is goodbye..." I say tears swelling up in my eyes, Lillian and Anna already sobbing and Grayson just standing there trying to hold back the tears like a man. We all wrap our arms around each other in a big group hug.
"TRAIN TO HALLA VILLAGE, BOARDING IN 5 MINUETS!" One of the conductors yell. I break the hug and look up at everyone and see Lillian and Grayson hugging each other, not wanting to let go. "I'm sorry" she murmurs into his chest. "For what?" He asks, as a tear -he tried so desperately to hold back- falls down his face. "For leaving you and not doing this earlier" she says, "wha-" he gets cut off by her kissing him. Anna and I look at each other, then look back at the lovebirds. "Never forget me" he says as he holds her cheek. "That's not possible" she says, "I love you" he says as he kisses her once more. She breaks the kiss, "I love you too. And I promise that I will see you again" she said as she let's go of him. He nods and they walk over to Anna and I.
We all look at each other. I take Lillian's hand and we walk to the train. We look at each other than turn to face Anna and Grayson. "WE'LL MISS YOU!" We yell as we board the train waving good bye at them. As we continue waving the train doors slide close and the trains starts to move indicating that we are departing. We get a key for one of the rooms on the train and head to our room.
I close the door behind me as we enter the room. I slide down, my back against the door as I hug my knees to my chest and let out all the tears. Lillian jumps on the bed and starts to ball her eyes out into the pillow she's holding. Our room was filled with sounds of our muffled sobbing.
Why is it painful saying goodbye?
