This morning is when we all found out out placings on the magic ladder.

It became a really big deal for all mages throughout the lands.

"Oi! Adaline! What was your ranking?!" Shouted a light-brown haired 14 yr old. "Oh I-I can't tell you. Sorry" I replied, it sucks not being able to gloat about my ranking, but it's safer for everyone.

Oops, I forgot to introduce my self!
My name is Adaline Jayla. I'm a 13 year old Illusion mage. I am apart of the Golden Panthers Guild, and attend Panthers High. I have short brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. I wear a leaf green long sleeve dress with a dark green ribbon tied around my waist that shows my shoulders. I have a leg belt that holds magic marbles on my left leg. I wear 2 purple bandannas; one on my lower left leg above the ankle, the other half way up my calf on my right leg. I wear green flats and a black triple pendant necklace.

I'm a very caring and smart girl. But I'm a bit of a cry baby.

I have a secret that no one but my best of best friends, Lillian Sturn and Anna Kylo, know about. That is because Lillian is in the same boat and Anna found out about a year ago.

Anyways enough about me, let's get back to the story!

"Why can't you tell me?" He asked in a sad tone. "I'm so sorry Chase, but I just can't. Please don't hate me" I replied. I was really upset that I couldn't tell him. "Oh, ok." And with that he left.

I felt a hand on my shoulder "It's ok Ada. I know it's hard, but we will make it through it. Together." I looked up to see the one and only Lillian.

Lillian is a few months older than me. She seems very quite when you first meet her but trust me she is the complete opposite.

Lillian has blonde hair with black streaks in a side curly ponytail. She wears a burgundy coloured sleeveless dress with a yellow belt and burgundy gloves. She wear gray thigh high socks/stockings with 2 burgundy strips at the top and burgundy knee high boots. She also wear a gray scarf that she rarely takes off.

Lilian uses Air Manipulation magic. She's a really strong wizard. When she uses her magic her eyes turn black and the black streaks in her hair kind of glow.

"A......da.......Ada! Ugh......ADALINE!" "Huh what?" I snapped back to reality. "You spaced off," Lillian said. "Oops, sorry Lil." I said a bit embarrassed.

~1 week ago, before the tests~

"ADALINE! LILLIAN! COME TO MY OFFICE!" Masters voice boomed.I looked at Lillian and she looked at me. We both had a look of confusion. We walked down the long hall. The tap sound in our step as our shoes hit the polished hardwood floors. I felt like I was in a horror movie. When we reached the end of the hall we gave each other another glance and opened the door.

Master Sholet was sitting at his desk writing some papers. "Master? You wanted to talk to us?" Lillian quietly spoke. "Yes. With these upcoming tests I want you do use the full force of your powers." "We were planning to that master. Everyone is," I said. "I know but I want you to use YOUR powers. I want to know how strong you both truely are. Because we all know that HE will be here and I thinks it's time to start using your spells instead of hiding them away" we looked at each other once again then turned to face Master. "But master what about our results?" We said in unison. "Well don't tell anyone but the people who already know," by that he was referring to our other best friend Anna Kylo and our friends in the Phoenix Talon Guild.

I'll introduce them later.

As we are about to take our leave, Master called out once more. "Adaline I forgot to give you this" he said handing me an envelope.
