An Idea

I returned to my room, completely wiped. That had taken a lot out of me, and I needed to rest. I flopped down on my bed, and fell asleep.

______

I woke up from the memory, back in the real mindscape. It took me a minute to realize that this was real, because I was in the same place the memory left off in. I was calmer, for some reason. I decided to go out to the main commons area, where all of the positive Sides could gather. When I finally managed to get there, I lasted all of three seconds before a blue blur attacked me and knocked me to the ground.

"Owww-"

I sat up, rubbing my head. The blur turned out to be Patton.

"Sorry! I'm sorry, are you okay?"

He rolled off of me, and
offered me a hand up, smiling apologetically. I looked past him and saw Roman dying, trying to keep his laughter silent, and Logan smirking faintly. I stood up, and rubbed my head.

"Yeah. I'm okay. It didn't really hurt, it's always more the surprise."

Patton looked really relieved. I sat down on a couch, across from Princey and Logan. Pat perched on the arm of a recliner. I should note, the furniture changes at random, fitting to whatever the occupants want at that time.

"So Hot Topic, wanna talk about what happened up there? We're all kinda worried."

The corners of my mouth twitched up at the nickname. Patton nodded his head in agreement, presumably about the worried bit.

"Well, Deceit and I have somewhat of a history. His sudden popping up triggered feelings I'd rather not go over."

I sat back, and pulled my knees up on the chair. There was a pause.

"Is that it? That's all we get?"

"Roman!" Logan lightly slapped Princey's arm, "What have we gone over way too many times?"

"Don't be so quick to speak, it could hurt someone's feelings." Roman mumbled.

Patton was nodding again. I swear, he could pass as a life-size bobblehead.

I laughed.

"It's fine, I would've probably done the same. But think next time, with what little brain isn't preoccupied with musicals and Disney."

I felt eyes staring me down, and I whipped around to look  at Patton, who was close to glaring at me. He stared at me for a while. It got to a point where I was so uncomfortable, I started shifting around in my seat.

"What are you-"

"He hurt you. Bad. He broke your trust."

Pat sat back, frowning. I was shell shocked, I had never told anybody, how did he know? Of course, I was crying in my room after he left, so it wasn't that hard to guess. But there seemed to be the implication that Patton knew more, but would let me tell.

"Yeah, he did. How did you know that?"

"I am curious as to how you managed to figure that one out as well."

Logan was very interested in the turn of conversation, we could all see it.

"Well, I am most of Thomas' feelings. You all have your thing, Logan can convince anyone of most anything, Roman creates illusions and ideas, Virgil can make any of us freak out, and I can read emotions and thoughts really well. I can also sway your feelings, in a small way. I'm surprised none of you figured it out, I thought it might be obvious."

We all thought on it for a moment. It did make sense, and it also explained why Patton could make me calm down the easiest.

"This makes things interesting."

Logan was thinking the exact same thing I was, apparently. However, Patton seemed to take it the wrong way.

"Wh-what do you mean? I'm not gonna manipulate anyone or anything. I would never do that!"

"And I never said you would. I merely stated an observation. You very well might truly be more powerful than any of us."

"Why does that matter?!"

Their bickering continued back and forth. I shot a look at Roman, kinda along the lines of,

'Can you believe them?'

Roman nodded in agreement. He mouthed,

'Just wait it out.'

I shrugged, settling back to get comfortable. I figured they'd be at it for a while. Logan just didn't know when to stop.

My guess was off though, as they came to a mutual agreement of some sort. When they had sat down, Roman locked eyes with me.

"So. You gonna tell us what happened with you and snake face?"

I groaned.

"I knew that question was coming."

I took a deep breath, readying myself.

"But I will. I guess it's only fair? It's sorta hard to tell you exactly what happened. Certain things happened, that words don't really describe. Y'know, when I was- over there."

Pat looked crestfallen.

"So you're not going to tell us."

"I never said that. I explicitly said I'd tell you. But- showing would be better than telling."

"How do you propose you accomplish that?"

Logan was staring at me, slightly curious.

"Well, I do this thing sometimes. I 'fall' into past memories. I experience them again, as if I was still there. But this only happens in my room, or when I'm completely knocked out, because they aren't Thomas' memories, they're mine. So, I'm wondering if I can somehow take you guys with me, and show you."

"That's a little dangerous there kiddo. You know what effect your room has on us."

I sighed, knowing I was going to have to reveal something else.

"It really doesn't have any effect on you. The way you guys feel inside my room is just from the effect the room has on me sometimes. That one particular time was just because I was fully prepared to never come back, even if I didn't want to. The room amplified my negative emotions, and pushed them on you."

"Are. You. Serious??"

"No, Roman. I just came up with that on the spot for fun."

Princey glared at me. I stuck my tongue out at him when the other two weren't looking.

"Well, I guess now we've got nothing to lose. Lead the way, Virgil."

"See you there."
